“Bulbasaur's Jump Rope Contest” will be returning to Pokémon Pokopia from Sunday, September 20th at 5:00am (local time) to Sunday, September 28th at 4:59pm (local time). During the event period, players can participate in a jump rope mini-game by talking to Bulbasaur in front of the Pokémon Center, and receive various prizes based on their scores and consecutive streaks.

Continuing the run of Post–Marvelous Mega 7 Years events, Pokémon Masters EX is today launching a brand new Ranked Damage Event. Lucas (Champion) & Dialga also make their playable Pokémon Masters EX debut today in a set of EX Master Fair Scouts.

The 2026 Victory Road September Challenge took place from 12–13 September 2026 and featured 392 trainers battling for first place. The most interesting part about this episode of Pokémon Horizons is definitely seeing the divided reaction between the Western and Eastern audiences. The Western audience seems to absolutely despise this episode, yet the Eastern audience absolutely loves it! You know it’s a hit in Japan when all of the posts related to the episode have a lot more likes and views than usual! What are my thoughts on this episode? I’m going to have to side with the Eastern audience this time—this episode was silly and adorable!

As previewed in the recent trailer, Dawn debuts her Neo Champion sync pair with Palkia today in Pokémon Masters EX in a new EX Master Fair Scout alongside the brand new Neo Champions event, Rising Thunder and Flames. Cynthia & Glaceon also make their debut today with the Post–Marvelous Mega 7 Years Cynthia & Glaceon Missions, while the game's latest Pasio Super Special Stadium has also launched.

Regulation Set M-C, the latest ruleset for Pokémon Champions, runs from 9 September to 2 December 2026 and introduces 23 new Pokémon and 6 new Mega Evolutions to the game. The 2027 Baltimore Regionals will be the first official event to use this ruleset, running from 19–20 September 2026, but a handful of unofficial grassroots tournaments have been held more recently, allowing players and fans to take a peek at how this new metagame is developing with all of these new additions.

A Team Rocket's Lapras Drop Event has now commenced in Pokémon TCG Pocket, running through to September 19th at 10:59pm (PDT) / September 20th at 5:59am (UTC), offering players the opportunity to challenge a series of special solo battles to attempt to obtain promo card packs and other rewards. The next Official Online Competition has been announced for Pokémon Champions. The 2027 Global Challenge I runs from 25 September at 02:00 UTC to 28 September 2026 at 01:59 UTC. Trainers will be able to sign up for the event from 18 September at 02:00 UTC until the tournament ends. The winning teams from the event will be posted here at Bulbagarden once the event has concluded.

A new trailer for Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass was show during the Nintendo Direct on September 9th, giving players a look into what they can expect from Part 2, releasing later this year. Part 2 of the DLC introduces accessories, allowing Ditto and its friends to style themselves, along with introducing more Pokémon into the game.

The third competitive ruleset for Pokémon Champions has begun—Regulation Set M-C runs from 9 September to 2 December 2026, and introduces 23 new Pokémon, 6 new Mega Evolutions, and 12 held items to the game. This will be the official ruleset for a number of major events, most notably the 2027 Global Challenge I from 25–28 September and the 2027 Latin America International Championships from 20–22 November.

Although I am a little upset that the box art legendaries are only reduced on a one-episode appearance here, I am still glad they finally showed up in Pokémon Horizons. Even if how they exist will never be explained, particularly for Miraidon since Horizons follows the Scarlet route. At least they got to eat sandwiches! Other than that, this was a fun episode.

Commencing Wednesday September 9th at 4:30am (UTC), Pokémon Sleep will enter a maintenance period for an update of the software to Version 3.6.0. This update is expected to run for roughly four and a half hours, continuing through until 9:00am (UTC). In addition to preparing the game for the Unexplored Realm Research! Pursue Mewtwo event, this update also makes balance adjustments to befriending Pokémon, and setting incenses.

As announced alongside the Version 2.72.0 Update, the popular Pasio Towers feature in Pokémon Masters EX is getting an upgrade today, with all towers being extended to 40 levels. Also launching today are a special set of Scouts featuring a variety of limited-time Sync Pairs, as well as a new spin on the Roll Cake Challenge for the Marvelous Mega 7 Years celebrations.

Updates posted over the last day across a range of official social media accounts associated with the Pokémon Trading Card Game, including but not limited to the Japanese and Korean YouTube channels, the Chinese Bilibili channel, and various accounts on X, have revealed full art variants of 15 separate cards from the game's upcoming anniversary expansion, 30th Celebration, which is set to release simultaneously worldwide later this month on September 16th.

Friday 28th through to Sunday 31st, August 2026, saw not only the Pokémon World Championships, but also the first ever PokémonXP hosted in the Moscone Center in San Francisco. While the former is a now-familiar celebration to Pokémon fans across the world - whether fortunate enough to watch in person or streaming from the comfort of home - the latter is an entirely novel occasion, building upon years of previous forays into additional fan experiences. Attendees were promised a huge range of activities to spectate and engage with, from panels to workshops to game demos… but whether all were delivered to the same standard might depend on who you ask. While many of the event’s distractions were delivered without a hitch, some were misjudged or disappointing - if fans were able to participate at all.

Pokémon Sleep is back with a new album on Spotify containing 20 tracks, including the background music for all new research areas and in-game arranged versions of special movie tracks, like “Oración”. All these soothing songs are paired with visuals showcasing the sleep styles of various Pokémon. Listeners on mobile will be able to see an adorable Pikachu snoozing on the progress bar!

NoReset8 Part 2 is scheduled to run through this weekend, live out of the Doubletree by Hilton Point-Claire in Quebec, Canada. Despite the name, this marks the 10th anniversary of NoReset marathons, a series of French-Canadian event running since 2016. A run of Pokémon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy Color is scheduled for this particular event, which is currently ongoing on its Twitch channel.

Following the first part of the marathon last weekend, the second weekend of the SpeedDocsAThon 2026 is underway, scheduled to run until September 6th. As usual, the event will be raising money for Save the Children. This part of the marathon will feature runs of Pokémon Sapphire on Friday night, and Pokémon Stadium on Saturday night. The marathon can be watched from its official Twitch channel.

Pokéween is officially starting up at Pokémon Centers in Japan as they debut Pokémon Magic Hour Illusion!, the big Halloween drop for 2026. The collection features spooky plushes, as usual, plus apparel, home goods, stationery, and more. Starring Ghost and Dark types, and with lots of cutesy food theming, new merch will arrive at Pokémon Centers in Japan on September 12th, and to the Pokémon Center Online on September 10th.
