Pokémon GO comes to Melbourne, Australia this April 26th to 28th for DreamHack Melbourne, with in-person gameplay at Melbourne & Olympic Parks

Pokémon GO at DreamHack Melbourne
Niantic has released full details on the Pokémon GO in-person event being held in Melbourne, Australia starting later this week in conjunction with the DreamHack Melbourne festival, which runs from April 26th to April 28th. Trainers will be able to take part in the in-person gameplay experience during the event around the Rod Laver & Margaret Court Arena at Melbourne & Olympic Parks.

Event Bonuses
The following event bonuses will be active on all 3 days of DreamHack Melbourne:
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours (not including Golden Lures)
  • Lure Modules will have a chance of attracting Unown D
  • Trainers will receive a 2× Buddy Catch Assist chance
  • Trainers will be able to make trades for 1/2 Stardust cost
In addition, special DreamHack PokéStops will also be available throughout the venue.

Field Research Task Rewards
Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available. The following Pokémon will be available to encounter when Field Research tasks are completed, with Pokémon marked with ⁂ also having a chance to appear in their shiny variants:
  • Hisuian Sneasel ⁂
  • Furfrou ⁂
  • Goomy ⁂
  • Sandygast
  • Jangmo-o
  • Dubwool
Timed Research – Me, You, and Pikachu!
Event-themed Timed Research will be available throughout the event. Completing these research tasks will award Trainers with Stardust, XP, Pikachu Candy, and an encounter with Pikachu wearing a red party hat.
