Ahead of Entei's debut, Pokémon Sleep will hold a Fire Type Week event from May 6th — Vulpix and Ninetales to make their debut alongside this event

  • Staff
Growlithe, Charmander, Vulpix, and Cyndaquil
Sleep Researchers looking to prepare their helper Pokémon ahead of the debut of Entei in Pokémon Sleep in late May will be getting some help early next month, with a week-long event focused specifically on Fire-type Pokémon scheduled to commence Monday May 6th at 4:00am local time, and running through to Monday May 13th at 3:59am local time.

The event will allow Researchers to participate and gain bonuses regardless of where they conduct their sleep research, with the following bonuses active throughout the event period:
  • At least one Pokémon will be hungry during the Sleep Researchers first sleep research session of the day
  • Researchers can encounter a few Pokémon of different sleep types regardless of their own sleep type for the day.
Vulpix
Vulpix and Ninetales are making their Pokémon Sleep debuts alongside this event event. Both are Snoozing Sleep type Pokémon, and will appear at Greengrass Isle and Taupe Hollow. No details have been given yet about what Main Skill this Pokémon will have. As part of this event, Researchers will be able to receive a variety of special rewards, including Vulpix Incense, by completing a set of special missions that will be added on top of the standard weekly missions.

Researchers will also be able to take advantage of the Mini Candy Boost for this event. This event-limited function will give Pokémon 2× the effect from candies, at a cost of using 4× times the amount of Dream Shards per candy. This represents a significant discount over the Candy Boost that appeared in previous events, which gave the same 2× boost but required 6× the amount of Dream Shards. This should mean Researchers will be able to power-level many of their Pokémon during this period, assuming they haven't already spent all their candy and Dream Shards during other recent events.

Additionally, the following Pokémon will also appear more frequently during sleep research throughout the Fire Type Week event:
  • Greater Appearance Rate
    • Greengrass Isle: Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Vulpix, Ninetales, Growlithe, Flareon, Cyndaquil, Quilava, Typhlosion
    • Cyan Beach: Growlithe
    • Taupe Hollow: Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Vulpix, Ninetales, Growlithe, Arcanine, Flareon, Cyndaquil, Quilava, Typhlosion
Please note that research in Snowdrop Tundra or Lapis Lakeside will not attract any Pokémon with boosted appearance rate.
