As announced last week, Sleep Researchers will soon be getting an opportunity to observe the sleep styles of Latios in Pokémon Sleep, with the two week long Latios and the Soul Dew event scheduled to commence Monday June 8th at 4:00am local time.

In an announcement posted today on the Pokémon Trading Card Game's official Japanese website, The Pokémon Company has announced that they are looking at implementing an identity verification system making use of the Japanese My Number Card for priority lotteries and select purchases from the Pokémon Center Online store from August 2026, as well as in applications to participate in specific official tournaments.

The 2026 Thailand Master Ball League was an official National-level tournament taking place within Pokémon Champions. The event was held from 16–17 May 2026, and featured 92 players battling for an invite to the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. The tournament was won by Jittarin Rojmahamongkol alongside Mega Venusaur and Mega Aerodactyl.

A new trailer has provided players with their first look at Pokémon TCG Pocket's next Themed Booster Pack, Paradox Drive, which is set to launch worldwide next week on Wednesday May 27th at 6:00pm (PDT) / Thursday May 28th at 1:00am (UTC). A corrosponding Japanese website update has also revealed a selection of events coming to the game throughout the next month.

Pokémon Masters EX is today launching its latest Ranked Damage Event, Super Sparring No. 20. Two EX Sync Pairs, Mai & Munchlax and Perrin & Growlithe, are also making their return to Pokémon Masters EX today in a set of Double Feature EX Fair Scouts.

The third batch of the third season of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, “Pokémon Horizons: Season 3—Rising Hope” will be released on BBC iPlayer and CBBC in the United Kingdom starting May 25th, and premiere on Netflix in the United States, Latin America, the Nordics, and other territories on June 26th. The batch will consist of the first half of the Rising Again arc.

The animated special “Dragonite and the Special Delivery” is now available on the English and other western language YouTube channels. This 14-minute short was originally released in Japan in commemoration of Pokémon Day 2025. The special sees Hana, a young girl who admires the postman Dragonite, finding a letter with no address and going on an adventure with Pokémon to find the sender.

It seems the unthinkable is happening this week, as Larry's getting a second holiday! 2025's Trouble at the Alola Fair Costume Event is making a return to Pokémon Masters EX alongside a set of Costume Scouts featuring Larry (Special Costume) & Flamigo and Clive (Special Costume) & Amoongus together with other Costume Sync Pairs from past Costume Events.

As announced earlier this year, the Pokémon Fossil Museum will be making its debut in North America at The Field Museum of Natural Science in Chicago this weekend. In addition, the Pokémon Center website has announced a variety of new merch in celebration of the exhibit, which is available online now. Merch is expected to be in high demand, and includes a plush, apparel, TCG accessories, and more.

Commencing Thursday May 21st at 4:30am (UTC), Pokémon Sleep will enter a maintenance period for an update of the software to Version 3.5.0. This update is expected to run for roughly four and a half hours, continuing through until 9:00am (UTC). In addition to preparing the game for the upcoming Dragon-Type Pokémon Spotlight Week and Latios and the Soul Dew events, this update also makes some minor balance adjustments to Wigglytuff, and to energy recovery from dishes.

Japan-based streetwear brand Human Made is continuing to collab with The Pokémon Company, launching a new collection which is slightly larger than their first. The new drop stars Farfetch’d, Magikarp, and Pikachu on a variety of apparel, accessories, and home goods. This collection will be available via Human Made’s website, which ships worldwide, and at Human Made locations in Japan and South Korea beginning May 23rd.

Wonder Pick Events in Pokémon TCG Pocket have gotten a complete revamp with the game's latest event, brings new Treecko and Gallade promo cards, along with a selection of limited time Mega Sceptile-themed event items to the in-game shop. This event will run through to May 26th, at 10:59pm (PDT) / May 27th, at 5:59am (UTC).

The 2026 edition of RPG Limit Break is set to go live from May 17th to May 23rd. The event will be taking place both online, and out of the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Tech Center in Denver, Colorado. Like all RPG Limit Break marathons, it will be raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Gold are both scheduled to be run at the event, which can be watched on Twitch.

Updates posted today on the Pokémon Trading Card Game's official Japanese homepage and YouTube channel have given fans their first look at all remaining regular print versions of cards from the upcoming Abyss Eye expansion that hits store shelves in Japan on May 22nd.

Flannery (Special Costume) & Magcargo make their Pokémon Masters EX debut in a limited-time set of Costume Scouts alongside the continuing Pasio Hot Spring Fever Costume Event. The Flannery Costume Scout and Flannery Costume Tiered Scout will run through until June 1st, at 10:59pm (PDT). The associated Flannery Costume Featured Ticket Scout and Flannery Costume Guaranteed Ticket Scout meanwhile will run through to June 8th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Pokémon UNITE's latest update, “Revival Stars Part2”, was released on May 14th and brings balance adjustments for various Pokémon, alongside the usual bug fixes, and Shop and Event updates. Specifically, this update provides buffs (⇧) for Pikachu, Meowscarada, Goodra, Aegislash, Duraludon, Metagross, Urshifu, and Typhlosion; both buffs and nerfs (⇧⇩) for Charizard; while bringing nerfs (⇩) for Sirfetch’d, Articuno, Mega Charizard Y, Suicune, Zapdos, Inteleon, and Dragapult.

The Pokémon Company’s disaster relief program, Pokémon With You, has announced two construction projects in an effort to revitalize Noto Peninsula, after the area suffered a major earthquake in January of 2024. The first, a Pokémon-themed footbath, held its opening ceremony this week, restoring part of the previously damaged Yuttari Park. The bigger project will be the renovation and reopening of Noto Satoyama Airport, decorated with Pokémon from top to bottom, as “Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport” this coming July.

Sleep Researchers looking to prepare ahead of the upcoming Latios and the Soul Dew event in Pokémon Sleep will be getting some help later this month, with a week-long event focused on Dragon-Type Pokémon. Also announced are the latest list of features and issues that are currently receiving attention from the game's developers.

The 2026 Global Challenge I ran from 1–4 May 2026, and featured over 400,000 trainers battling for the top spot, with 2025 North America International Champion Federico Camporesi coming out on top alongside Mega Charizard Y, Mega Aerodactyl, and a very uncommon pick in Ariados.
