The Pokêmon Company International (TPCi), their long-term charitable partner The Toy Foundation™, and the Empire State Building in New York City have teamed up to celebrate Pokémon Day 2024 by illuminating the iconic tower in yellow and blue, inspired by the colors of the Pokémon logo. TPCi says the lighting is also in anticipation of the U.S. premiere of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, which the company describes as the first new mainline Pokémon anime to premiere since the original Pokémon the Series over 25 years ago. The Empire State Building will be lit in Pokémon’s colors on February 27th from sunset until 2 a.m., along with hosting Pokémon GO activities for visitors. Catch the U.S. premiere of Pokémon Horizons: The Series on March 7th, exclusively on Netflix.
Blossoms are blooming next week in Pokémon GO with a pair of events themed around Valentine's Day, and the Brazilian Carnaval. The Carnival of Love 2024 event will run from February 13th at 10:00am through to February 15th at 8:00pm local time, and feature the Pokémon GO debut of Shiny Oricorio. Meanwhile, the Love-Hate Pokémon Enamorus will be making its debut in Elite Raids in its Incarnate Forme on February 14th.
Niantic released details for the upcoming Raid Day event featuring the Pokémon GO debut of Hisuian Decidueye, on February 11th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time. Hisuian Decidueye will be appearing in three-star raids during this time, together with its Shiny variant.
Pokémon GO is celebrating the start of the Year of the Dragon next week with a special celebration event, Lunar New Year: Dragons Unleashed, to run from Monday February 5th at 10:00am local time, through to February 11th at 8:00pm. Drampa, the Placid Pokémon, will be making its Pokémon GO debut as part of this event.
Earlier this week, Niantic announced the Road to Sinnoh, a preparatory event before the Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global event in late-February. Starting the day after the Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Los Angeles live events, Road to Sinnoh will run from February 19th, at 10:00am to February 23rd, at 10:00pm local time, and features opportunities for encounters with a variety of Pokémon originally discovered in this region. Two paid tickets will be available for this event, with bonuses that will continue through to Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh - Global.
Niantic has released details on the upcoming Taken Treasures event in Pokémon GO, which will take place from January 27th at 12:00am to February 1st at 11:59pm local time. This latest Team GO Rocket Takeover Event will include the Pokémon GO debut of Varoom and its evolution, Revavroom.
Niantic has announced a special ticketed collaboration event for the launch of Pokémon Air Adventures for Indonesia, exclusively for Indonesian Pokémon GO players. The Pikachu's Indonesia Journey in Bali event will run on March 2nd and 3rd, from 10:00am to 6:00pm local time. Tickets are available to purchase now for 150,000 IDR. Trainers may only purchase a ticket for one day of the two-day event.
The Rage Monkey Pokémon Annihilape will be making make its Pokémon GO debut next week as part of the Raging Battles event, which will run alongside the GO Battle Week that was previously announced all the way back in November 2023. Both events will run from January 19th at 10:00am local time, through to January 24th at 11:59pm local time.
Niantic this week has released more details regarding the upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh Live Event in Los Angeles on February 17th and 18th, and the Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global event which will follow held on February 24th and 25th. These events will see the Pokémon GO debuts of both Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia, who can each be found in special space-time anomalies that will appear during these events.
Niantic has confirmed that the Egg Pokémon, Chansey will be the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's Community Day for February 2024. During this event, Chansey will be appearing more frequently in the wild, together with its Shiny variant. The event will be held on February 4th, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time.
The Pokémon Company International have announced that Play! Pokémon events at local retailers in Latin America will now also include officially sanctioned events for Pokémon GO, on top of the existing Pokémon Trading Card Game events already being held at these retailers.

The event, which will run from January 13th at 10:00am to January 16th at 8:00pm local time will feature the Pokémon GO debut of Shiny Cutiefly, together with encounters with a whole host of different Fairy-type Pokémon.
Niantic has released details for the upcoming Raid Day event featuring the Pokémon GO debut of the Ghost Flame Pokémon, Hisuian Typhlosion, on January 14th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time. Hisuian Typhlosion will be appearing in three-star raids, with the Shiny variant also made available.
Japanese streetwear designer Hiroshi Fujiwara’s label, fragment design, is teaming up with Italian luxury fashion brand Fendi for new Pokémon-inspired goods to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite are the stars of the collection, appearing on t-shirts and sweatshirts, as jewelry, and alongside Fendi’s signature pattern on handbags and other leather goods. Fendi reports that the Dragonite figure, made entirely of leather and just under 16 inches tall, requires 30 hours of handcrafting, which is reflected in its $2,290 USD price tag.
Niantic has announced that the next Pokémon GO Community Day Classic event will feature the Virtual Pokémon, Porygon. During this event, which will be held on January 20th, between 2:00pm and 5:00pm local time, Porygon will be appearing more frequently in the wild, and its Shiny variant will also be available to be encountered.
Niantic this week have announced details on the Lustrous Odyssey event, running in Pokémon GO from January 6th at 10:00am to January 10th at 8:00pm local time. Dusk Form Lycanroc will make its Pokémon GO debut as part of this event.
Starting today, January 1st, and running through to January 29th, at 8:00pm local time, Trainers in Pokémon GO can purchase a ticket for Eggs-pedition Access to gain access to Timed Research and special bonuses. After purchasing the ticket, Trainers will have until January 31st, at 8:00pm local time to complete all research tasks and claim their rewards.
Pokémon GO is once again ringing in the New Year with a special New Year's celebration event. Unlike the 2023 event, this time around the event will start only after the beginning of the near year, running from January 1st, 2024, at 10:00am, until January 3rd, at 8:00pm local time. Details on several upcoming events and activities in Pokémon GO across January 2024 have also been announced by Niantic on their website and in infographics posted to their official account on X (formerly Twitter).
Niantic earlier this week released details for two events to be held next weekend in Pokémon GO. The Winter Wonderland event, running from December 23rd at 10:00am to December 24th at 8:00pm local time; and the final Raid Day event of the year, featuring the Pokémon GO debut of the Big Horn Pokémon Wyrdeer, which will be held on December 23rd, running from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time.
