Cards from Crimson Haze will be released internationally later this year as part of an as-yet unannounced expansion.

The app is developed by The Pokémon Company in partnership with Creatures Inc., who are responsible for design and planning of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and DeNA Co. Ltd., developers of Pokémon Masters EX.

The multinational e-commerce platform eBay announced today that they are partnering with major Pokémon card and merch sellers on their platform for the “Catch 151” auction, which is scheduled for Pokémon Day 2024. The auctions of 151 items, including expensive merchandise from collaborations and rare Trading Card Game products, will be live beginning 12:01 am EST on February 27th and will end at 12:01am EST on February 28th. In honor of the number of Generation I Pokémon, every item included in the auction will have its price begin at $1.51 USD. The secondhand Pokémon market on eBay is immense; eBay reports that in 2023, users searched for Pokemon items more than 400 times a minute globally, on average.

Following on from the announcement of the Crimson Haze subset during yesterday's Pokémon Champion's League stream, today's stream has given fans their first look at cards that will be released in this set in Japan on March 22nd. The Pokémon Europe International Championships are coming once again to the enormous ExCeL London event center in England. In an update posted today to the Official Pokémon Homepage, The Pokémon Company International has announced that the latest series of Play! Pokémon Prize Packs will be available starting February 14th. Players will be able to acquire these special 6-card booster packs by participating in various Play! Pokémon events, including Leagues, League Challenges, and League Cups, at participating retail locations.

While the collaboration between The Pokémon Company International and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has had its setbacks, good news has been announced for fans hoping to get their hands on the elusive TCG promo item. “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” is announced to be coming to over 1,000 toy stores and gift shops in the Netherlands, including the chains Primera, Bruna, Intertoys, Game Mania, Top1Toys, MediaMarkt and Smyths Toys Superstores, as well as smaller specialty shops. Cards are limited to one per customer and are only available as a free gift with the purchase of €29.99 worth of Pokémon Trading Card Game merchandise. The card will be available for a limited time beginning Saturday, February 10th.

The Pokémon Company International’s collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, which began September 28th of 2023, was quickly overwhelmed with issues related to its limited Van Gogh x Pokémon merchandise and overcrowding within the museum. Scalpers wasted no time acquiring and flipping merchandise for hundreds of dollars on resale sites like eBay; the most egregious item was perhaps the limited edition “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” promo card, which was originally available free in-person at the Van Gogh Museum and free with online Pokémon Center orders of Van Gogh-themed Pokémon merchandise. The museum stopped giving out the card in mid-October due to safety concerns. Getting tickets for the exhibit in the Van Gogh Museum also became difficult due to overwhelming demand. Tickets sold out weeks ahead when the collab was announced in September, and patrons reported being offered double the price for their ticket inside.
