Hey! It's been a while since I've posted (as per usual at this point) but I want to make this thread since I can't stop thinking about Yuka Morii's Pokémon card art.
For those who don't know, Yuka Morii is a professional clay modeler who has made some cards for the Pokémon TCG. They usually involve clay models of the Pokémon in question either on a set or actual location. I've always adored her work, so I thought it would be nice to make a thread appreciating them!
Here are some of my favorite cards! (spoilered due to size)
Swirlix from PokeKyun/Generations was the first Yuka Morii card I actually owned! I am a huge swirlix/slurpuff fan, so I was absolutely in LOVE with this card when I got it. Swirlix looks so cute, and I must stop myself from trying to eat the background. I sadly lost it some time ago, but I still love to look at this card online
This Magneton card just has this specialness to it! Just seeing the industrial background and the amazing work on the clay model really make it feel like it could pop into reality at any moment.
mareep being a silly little guy, need I say more?
I absolutely adore Yuka Morii's work, I feel like it is really unique when most other cards are illustrated. The photography and clay models just pop, y'know? Feel free to post your favorite Yuka Morii cards as well!
(btw I hope I posted this in the right section of the forums, its been a while lol)
