Pokemon Champion and Elite Four Speculation

The direct mentioned that we will be going on our journey to become champion so I believe there will be a league this time as well.

Yeah, that's something I hope comes back too. It was a nice QoL touch that made sense with your victory as champion.
 
I have no preferences as to what positions they should have (besides Champion for one of these because we've had two already), but I'll be disappointed if there isn't a Dragon or Fairy specialist in Galar. It's PokéBritain, there's really no excuse to not have any major NPCs interested in those types.

I'd have to second that I'm hoping for a Fairy-type Elite Four member. Specifically, a male Fairy-type specialist since we haven't seen one yet, and for him to be named Oberon.
 
Even SM, which axed gyms, had an Elite 4 and Champion so I think that this game will too, especially considering that gyms are coming back.
 
I want to see unique types for the Elite Four. They've been doing pretty good as of late: Fire, Steel and Water with Kalos; Rock, Flying and Steel for Alola. I know they're not the best type, but I want to see a Normal E4 member who can make the type shine.

As for characterization, I'd love to see a unifying theme to them. Aside from the idea of them being the royal family, maybe they could all be based off characters from famous literature?

Wouldn't Gyms returning mean there kinda has to be one? Unless this were an Orre situation, which I kinda doubt.

I hope they play a more active role/function this time, rather than just sit around waiting to be taken out. Malva for example was very much a missed opportunity, so lets try again and do better this time in regards to plot.

Definitely bring back title defense and expand on the duties of Champion. Sitting on the throne is cool, but I'd like there to be more to it than just sitting on my ass waiting for the next scrub.

In addition to that, randomly generated competitive trainer like those at the Battle Tree as the last battle would make the whole concept more realistic and interesting.

You know that's similar to an idea I had: Take out the Elite Four completely and make it a 32-people tournament. That way everything could be more or less randomized and still be the last five battles.

You can also make it so those people all have gathered all badges and the tournament is their to see who is strong enough to take on the Elite 4 and Champion.

I've wanted a Normal Elite for yeeears. It'd be so easy conceptually; you could have them boast about how Normal-types can use such a wide variety of moves with few weaknesses to hamper them.

I prefer this idea far more than having the royals be the Elite Four. Or if they are royal-themed, have them be themed to Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
