Back in October last year, Nintendo announced in posts on their official social media channels that core online play and communications functions for the 3DS and Wii U consoles will sunset from early April 2024. Nintendo have today given firm dates for when these services will shut down, with online play and other online functions to cease for most services from April 8th.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have received an update to Version 2.0.2. This update resolves bugs that were preventing victories against NPC Trainers from being recorded in certain circumstances, as well as an issue that prevented certain Pokémon originally caught in Pokémon GO to be transfered from Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet via Pokémon HOME.

The Pokémon HOME 3.0.0 update, which was originally announced for May 23rd, has now been confirmed as releasing at the end of this month. At 5pm (PDT) on May 29th, Pokémon HOME will enter an extended period of maintenance ahead of 3.0.0 becoming available to users. The Pokémon Company has warned that this maintenance could extend for more than 24 hours, going as late as 11pm (PDT) on May 30th.
Pokémon fans may be a little disappointed this weekend, with news dropping about technical issues and delays with upcoming in-game events for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and for the software update for Pokémon HOME that was announced earlier this week.
The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo have announced that Pokémon HOME will receive an update to version 3.0.0 on May 23rd. This update will allow Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, released in November last year, recently released Pokémon titles, to be mutually compatible to past games including Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, and Pokémon GO.
The smartphone versions of Pokémon HOME have been updated to version 2.1.0. These updates bring with them an expansion to the app's Battle Data functionality, which adds in information from player's Ranked Battles in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Players must have linked their Pokémon HOME to a Nintendo Account with data from these games in order to view their results. The update does not add any functionality for players to deposit their Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet into Pokémon HOME, however the Japanese announcement states an update to add that functionality has been scheduled for the Northern Hemisphere Spring.
The Pokémon Company International has released a new trailer which shows several new information for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Alongside the release of this trailer, the official site for these games was also updated with a range of additional information on plot elements, game mechanics, special in-game events, and early purchase bonuses. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be launched worldwide on November 18th for the Nintendo Switch.
Ver. 2.0.1 of Pokémon HOME is now available for download on the Nintendo Switch. This update fixed a minor bug that may occur after players have completed transferring their Pokémon and save the game.

Nintendo have announced that the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShops will be progressively closing over the next year, with users unable to purchase new games from March 2023. Following this announcement, The Pokémon Company have issued a statement to inform users that the paid Pokémon Bank service will be made free from the date of this closure.
