I’m still shaking with excitement from that reveal. Sword and Shield are awesome names, UK region was one of my most wanted, gyms are back, the trainers seem aged up again (I think?) , I love all of the starter designs. Oh man. Gamefreak, you absolutely knocked it out of the park with this direct
in hindsight, an obvious sign we would've had news coming was Masuda RT'ing the treehouse schedule
if it was just meant to be an event for kids doing fun activities in NYC, then why would he be like "hey guys check this out" to his mainly japanese following?
yeah I don't think Joe was saying that based on information.
Ever since gen 8 was announced he's been advocating that gen 8 would be more in line with the typical generational leap we get, rather than some massive overhaul
I feel like 2020 will be a gap year. 2021 is the 25th anniversary which is arguably a bigger deal than the 20th (since they’d be celebrating a quarter of a century) so I can’t see them not putting out a mainline release that year.
Also, it’s exciting seeing the thread moving so fast slskdkfjsk...
I'm also very surprised the pokemon twitter/instagram countdown actually meant something.
I'm guessing since they covered each region, and the starters on instagram. We'll get titles, starter, and region tomorrow?
my inner edgelord would be happy with Chaos/Control as titles
it does remind me a lot of sonic though lol. Also, the image used to announce the direct has 3 pokeballs as the focus. starters confirmed?
they might've learned from the S/M reveal. When all you plan on showcasing is logo's, if those logo trademarks leak, the announcement is basically killed
I think it's pretty likely we'll get more than Logos tbh. I don't wanna jump the gun and get too excited but
-we're in a similar situation we were in pre-gen 6 announcement. There's no officially confirmed gen 8 pokemon like there usually is before an announcement
and, S/M's reveal trailer...
I'm still sort of surprised we're actually getting a reveal tomorrow.
Like, I am genuinely surprised TPC was able to announce the direct without any sort of leaks or buzz beforehand (there was the former Ubi guy, but that was still a single case)
I've never been so happy to be wrong
Well was this certainly the best possible news to wake up to.
Finally happening!! and 7 minutes is longer than the S/M direct no? We might see more than just logos yay
he said he expects something this week, not that news is absolutely coming this week. I agree that figures like him and Joe, etc hold valuable opinions and are highly knowledgeable when it comes to this kinda stuff, but there's still responsibility on the fanbase to not take what they say and...
he doesn't. His info is through his videos, but you can patron to access the videos earlier iirc (by like a day or two). The whole "paywall" thing was a rumor spread by Verlis and others if I'm not mistaken.
We should keep in mind Paul has stated that him thinking the reveal would come on...
I'm moderately excited for both but the excitement is more of like a "I cant wait to see this, it'll be fun" kinda thing. I'm not necessarily fiending for pre-release news on detective pikachu, and the only extended pre-release interest I have in M22 is whether it'll end up teasing something for...
Yeah I agree with this. While I personally don’t think he’s lying or anything, a press event in NYC to reveal the games doesn’t make much sense logically and seems all around weird
