Celebrate the addition of Latin American Spanish support to Pokémon GO with the A New LATAM Adventure event, running through until June 15th

Niantic and The Pokémon Company announced support for Latin American Spanish in Pokémon GO in a keynote speech at CCXP in Mexico City over this past weekend on May 5th. To commemorate this update, a special event entitled A New LATAM Adventure is currently running in-game until June 15th, at 8:00pm local time. This event is only available for Trainers physically present in in Latin America.

Event Bonuses and Activities
The following event bonuses are active for Trainers in Latin America during the event period:

• Trainers will earn double the amount of hearts when adventuring with their buddy Pokémon
• Incense used by Trainers will have a 2× bonus multiplier to duration
• Trainers can receive a daily surprise encounter when taking GO Snapshots

Field Research
Free Field Research tasks are available as part of this event. When completed, these tasks will award Trainers with encounters with the following Pokémon, all of which may occasionally be encountered as Shiny:

• Bulbasaur ⁂
• Charmander ⁂
• Squirtle ⁂

In addition, a selection of Field Research tasks are available, awarding Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle Candy; or Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise Mega Energy.

Timed Research
Event-exclusive special Timed Research is available for Trainers to complete until June 15th, at 8:00 pm local time. Completing this Timed Research awards Trainers with a selection of items, including a Star Piece, a Super Incubator, and Rare Candy, as well as encounters with Lapras or Snorlax.

Special Weekend Rewards Timed Research will also be available every weekend until June 15th, at 8:00pm local time. This Timed Research may reward Razz Berries, Nanab Berries, Pinap Berries, Incense, Poké Balls, and Great Balls. The tasks associated with this weekly Timed Research must be completed and their rewards claimed before each Sunday at 8:00pm local time.

Limited-Time Boxes in the in-game shop
Two limited-time boxes were made available from the in-game shop alongside this event, for Trainers in Latin America only.

The Special Box was available as a one-time purchase only until May 6th at 11:00pm (Central America Standard Time), and included one Pokémon Storage upgrade, one Incense, five Poké Balls, five Great Balls, five Ultra Balls, one Lure Module, one Star Piece, and 10 Papel Picado stickers.

The Event Box will be available until June 15th at 11:00pm (Central America Standard Time), and can be purchased up to three times. Each Event Box comes with two Incense, five Poké Balls, five Great Balls, five Ultra Balls, one Lure Module, and 10 Papel Picado stickers.
