Zapdos Moves Overview
Overview of Zapdos's moves

Zapdos has the ability Static, which paralyzes opponents on receiving damage from them. It also created an electric field for a short time, that damages and slows opponents within the field.

Zapdos's first move slot consists of Thunder Shock, which can upgrade into Thunderbolt. Thunder Shock attacks with a bolt of lightning that also damages nearby opponents on hitting a target Pokémon. Thunderbolt unleashes a strong electric blast that damages and paralyzes opponents, and leaves an electric field in its area of effect.

Zapdos's second move slot consists of Discharge, which can upgrade into Zap Cannon. Discharge lets loose a flare of electricity that damages and paralyzes nearby Pokémon. If there is an electric field within this move’s area of effect, the electric field is absorbed, increasing this move’s area of effect and duration. Zap Cannon fires an electric cannon-like blast that explodes on contact, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon, also leaving them unable to act. When the electric orb passes through an electric field, it absorbs the electric field, increasing its size, travel distance, and damage dealt.

Zapdos's Unite Move is High-Voltage Siege, which has the "Hindrance" and "Area" effects. The user continuously drops lightning bolts, creating an electric field where the lightning strikes. The lightning bolts paralyze and deal damage to opposing Pokémon they hit. If lightning bolts hit the same opponent 3 consecutive times, that Pokémon will be left unable to act. If lightning bolts hit one of the opposing team’s goal zones 5 times, that goal zone will become defenseless, and an ally will be able to score immediately.
