Update to official Japanese Pokémon TCG site unveils new Pokémon ex cards, plus new collaboration collection with artist Yu Nagaba

Updates today on the Pokémon Trading Card Game's official Japanese homepage and YouTube channel have revealed three brand new Pokémon ex cards that will be available in ex Special Set bundles that will launch in Japan on May 19th. Also revealed today is a brand new collaboration between the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Japanese artist Yu Nagaba, with a range of merchandise and promotional cards featuring artwork of Eevee and its evolutions drawn by Yu Nagaba.

Retailing for 1,800円, each ex Special Set bundle will include four Snow Hazard booster packs and four Clay Burst booster packs, plus one of three 3-card promotional card packs, each of which includes a guaranteed Pokémon ex, together with the Pokémon that evolve into them. The cards included in the three promotional card packs are:

1. 2x SVP1 001/007 Toedscool (holographic reprint of SV1V 009/078 Toedscool), 1x SVP1 002/007 Toedscruel ex
2. 1x SVP1 003/007 Pawmi (holographic reprint of SV1V 033/078 Pawmi), 1x SVP1 004/007 Pawmo (holographic reprint of SV1V 035/078 Pawmo), 1x SVP1 005/007 Pawmot ex
3. 2x SVP1 006/007 Greavard (holographic reprint of SV1V 046/078 Greavard), 1x SVP1 007/007 Houndstone ex

Images and translations for the non-reprinted cards can be found in the table at the end of this article. Cards from this Snow Hazard and Clay Burst expansions will be released internationally as part of the Scarlet & Violet: Paldea Evolved expansion on June 9th, however it's unclear at this stage if these new ex promotional cards will also be available in that expansion.

The new Yu Nagaba collaboration collection will be released in Japan on May 24th. All items from this collaboration are currently available for pre-order in Japan from the Pokémon Center Online until 11:59pm JST this Sunday, April 23rd. Pre-orders are limited to one-per person, and will be handled in a lottery format, with those lucky enough to win their pre-order to receive notification via email.

The most expensive item in this collaboration is the Yu Nagaba x Pokémon Card Game Eevee Special Box, which for 4,800円 includes a long card box, play mat, set of card sleeves, and deck case. Each of these items feature Eevee, its evolutions, and the Pokémon TCG energy symbols, all drawn in Yu Nagaba's signature art style. Also available are the Yu Nagaba x Pokémon Card Game Eevee Collection File, a 4-hole card file including ten 9-pocket card pages, and the Yu Nagaba x Pokémon Card Game Eevee Display Frame, a free-standing ornamental frame sized specifically to display a Pokémon card.

In addition to this merchandise, Pokémon fans in Japan will be able to receive a Yu Nagaba x Pokémon Card Game promotional card for every 1,000円 they spend at either Pokémon Centers, Pokémon Stores, or at the Pokémon Center Online from May 24th, until supplies run out.

This is Yu Nagaba's second collaboration with the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The first involved a range of merchandise which was released in July 2021, including T-shirts and the Yu Nagaba × Pokémon Card Game Special Box. Similar in general style to the new collaboration, these items primarily featured minimalist black line drawings of Pikachu and Charizard on a white background. Sadly, given that the items from this first collaboration were never released internationally, it's unlikely that the cards and merchandise from this newest collaboration will ever receive an official international release. Further information will be released on May 5th regarding additional items in this collaboration that will be sold in conjunction with the Japanese clothing store Beams.
