Welcome To Unovia's Galar "Gym Leader Ace" Run!
This will be my second Galarian Run, though this one will be with a much smaller cast of Pokemon I can use.

Here are the members of my Support Team:

@Greninjaman , @Nicolas721 , @lumineonite

If you are interested in checking out my just completed Legends Arceus Run, please check out the following link:

===================================

What Are The Rules For This Challenge?
1. I can only use the Pokemon that are the Ace Pokemon of the Gym Leaders, excluding the Starter.
- For Reference, the Pokemon I can use are:
Starter
Gossifleur/Eldegoss
Chewtle/Drednaw
Sizzlipede/Centiscorch
Machop/Machoke/Machamp
Gastly/Haunter/Gengar
Milcery/Alcremie
Hattenna/Hattrem/Hatterene
Rolycoly/Carkol/Coalossal
Lapras
Galarian Zigzagoon/Galarian Linoone/Obstagoon
Impidimp/Morgrem/Grimmsnarl
Duraludon
Galarian Slowpoke/Galarian Slowbro/Galarian Slowking
Kubfu/Urshifu
Cufant/Copperajah

2. I will name them after their Gym Leader.
3. I can only use the same number of Pokemon as the Gym Leader.
4. Rematches will occur as needed.
5. This Playthrough will include the DLC's, which is why I added Galarian Slowpoke, Kubfu and Cufant to my list to represent Klara/Avery, Mustard, and Peony.

Can I beat Galar (Pokemon Sword) using only the Gym Leader Ace Pokemon?

Please watch and find out!

Chewtle is a great option, has good coverage and evolves quickly. Same for Cufant, is very sturdy.
if you remember my first Galar Run, I used Chewtle/Drednaw until pretty far into the Run. I think I had it on my final Team to beat Leon before...

Sounds fun. Galar's not all that difficult to beat, so it seems like a perfect region for this challenge.
After the slog that was Arceus, I wanted something easier, plus Galar is very fun and on the easier end.

It took me a bit to sort out how to reset my Pokemon Sword save file, but I managed to search the internet and get it done.

The Game Begins...Postwick
Starting up, after setting up my character (named him Daniel, my real name), and the introduction with Chairman Rose, Hop came over to my house, asking me to go with him to see Lee (Leon).

I got my backpack on, my hat, and then rushed off to Wedgehurst.
800px-Sword_Shield_Leon.png
Wedgehurst
I met Leon, the undefeatable Champion. He encouraged a crowd to "have a Champion time," then met up with Hop. We talked for a bit, then Leon ran off. Hop was concerned, for Leon tends to lose track of directions.

Hop and I headed back to Postwick.

Postwick
Leon presented us with the Starters of Galar. In the next Log, we will discuss the Starters and tell which one we will pick. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #GL02-Picking Our Starter
1024px-Galar_first_partners_anime.png
Here we are, standing before the trio of Starters of Galar. After thinking about it some, pondering whether to pick a different one this time (I picked Grookey last time). I picked Grookey again. I like Grookey most of the three. I named Grookey Henry, after Henry Sword, one of the protagonists of the SWSH Manga.

Having picked Grookey, it was Hop's turn to pick a Starter (despite the fact that he had a Wooloo). He chose Sobble. Leon got in on the fun, taking Scorbunny as his.

Hop challenged me to battle.

Vs. Hop
It seemed unfair for Hop to have two Pokemon, but it really didn't matter. Henry swept Hop to the side. Way to go, Henry!
1024px-Milo_Wooloo_TW.png
Having beaten Hop, we were tasked with finding a stray Wooloo who had wandered into the Slumbering Weald. In the next Log, we will hunt it down. Until the next time, we will see you!

Slumbering Weald
Having no other choice, Hop and I chased down a stray Wooloo who had wandered into the Slumbering Weald. We had to do a few fights with some wild Pokemon, but Henry kept us safe.

The fog got heavier, and we heard the howl of a wolf. Wandering about more, the fog continued to increase, and we ended up in a fight with a spectral wolf. Couldn't do anything, and we ended up fainting.

Leon saved the Wooloo. We were rescued out of the Weald, and then I went back home, checking in with mom. We got some more money, then prepared to head out on Route 1.

In the next Log, we will travel onto Route 1. Until the next time, we will see you!

Route 1
Free to explore, we explored Route 1, getting Henry some experience. If I had been doing a different challenge, I would have had a full Team already. Still, it was nice to train a bit. We made our way back to Wedgehurst, then were tasked with going to meet with Professor Magnolia on Route 2.

In the next Log, we will do just that, getting a few captures to add to our Team. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #GL05-Route 2

Route 2
We moved onto Route 2, where we explored the grass. I captured a Galarian Zigzagoon that I named Piers and a Chewtle I named Nessa. I then put Henry the Grookey in the box for a little bit since it was close to Level 10 at this point and I wanted to catch the others up.

I trained up Piers and Nessa, then took on my first few trainers, getting a few Levels, as I made my way to Professor Magnolia's house. Seeing Hop hanging out near the Lab, I grabbed Henry out of the boxes.

I met Sonia, the professor's grandaughter, as well as Professor Magnolia, who studies Dynamax. Having gotten the Pokedex as well, I felt fully on my way.

Hop wanted to battle again. Like I pass up an opportunity to beat him.

Vs. Hop
We had a three vs. three. Piers beat Wooloo, Henry beat Sobble, and Nessa beat Rookidee. I had beaten Hop twice in a short time.

Hop was excited after we saw some Wishing Stars crash to earth and we got our Dynamax Bands. Can't use them yet though. Leon also gave up endorsement letters to allow us to go on our journey. Hop and I headed off to Wedgehurst Station to make our way to Motostoke, our first big city. Unfortunately, we had to stop in the Wild Area since a herd of Wooloo blocked the train.

In the next Log, we will go through the Wild Area on foot. Until the next time, we will see you!

Wild Area
I got into the Wild Area, a massive area in the middle of the Galar Region. I did some research about the available Pokemon in the Wild Area. Gastly is one of the Pokemon at North Lake Miloch.

I was looking at my Team, my trio of Pokemon, and I decided to go back to Route 2 to go train a bit so I could be more prepared. When I went back to Wedgehurst Station, I ran into a woman who was from the Isle of Armor.

A Galarian Slowpoke arrived in the Station. I decided to go capture it. The Galarian Slowpoke (Level 12) was higher than my Level 10-11 Team. I used Piers the Galarian Zigzagoon to get the Slowpoke lower on the HP. I captured the Galarian Slowpoke, which I named Klara.

I trained the rest of my Team up to Level 12, then went back to the Wild Area. In the next Log, we will head to North Lake Miloch. Until the next time, we will see you!

North Lake Miloch
It took me a while to get to the area I needed to get to. I had to constantly use the map to get to North Lake Miloch. I have to wait until the weather changes, since I can't get Gastly until the area is Cloudy which gives a 10% chance at Gastly.

When I arrived at the area, it was in the middle of a thunderstorm. I decided to camp out and wait. Once I get Gastly, I will make my way to Motostoke. In the next Log, we will talk about our experience at North Lake Miloch. Might take a few days. Who knows.

Until the next time, we will see you!

North Lake Miloch
It took me six days, but I managed to get a cloudy day. On day 2, I went to Motostoke so I could be in a Pokemon Center to stay warm as I waited.
800px-Motostoke_anime.png
Motostoke
I met with Sonia, who checked in with me, asking me to walk around Motostoke. Instead, I just waited in the Pokemon Center, so I felt like I wasn't really active in the city yet.
1024px-North_Lake_Miloch_SwSh.png
North Lake Miloch
When the day finally came, I made my way back to North Lake Miloch. There, I captured a Machop (Level 16), which I named Bea I. I also managed to get my Gastly (Level 15), which I named Allister I. Those are Roman numerals, so I will let you all guess what that means...

Having finally gotten my captures, I went back to Motostoke. In the next Log, we will discuss our experience in Motostoke. Until the next time, we will see you!

Motostoke
I put Machop (Bea I) and Gastly (Allister I) in the boxes since they were higher level than the rest of my Team (Level 12). Then I explored a bit of Motostoke.

After I met up with Leon and Hop, I got my uniform number (08). I was not sure what number I wanted to go with, but I decided that 08 was good because there are technically 8 Gyms in Galar.

I was then encouraged to go to the Budew Inn to rest after my journey here. Sonia also wants to meet us there. In the next Log, we will see you!

Budew Drop Inn
Sonia talked to Hop and me about the statue in the lobby of the Budew Drop Inn. Something about an event known as The Darkest Day.

Going up to the counter, I encountered a group known as Team Yell, fans of a girl named Marnie. I participated in a battle with Hop to chase Team Yell away. Piers (Galarian Zigzagoon) beat them down easy with Headbutt. They left, and Marnie, the girl they were cheering for, apologized for them.

We rested for the night, then we went back to the lobby. Hop left to meet with me at Route 3. For me, it was time to participate in the Opening Ceremony. Why wouldn't Hop join on that, considering he is a participant?

In the next Log, we will participate in the Opening Ceremony. Until the next time, we will see you!

Opening Ceremony
I participated in the Opening Ceremony for the Galar League. While there, I was introduced to Milo, Nessa, Kabu, Bea, Opal, Gordie, and Raihan. Strangely, there was only seven Gym Leaders presented. Where was the other one?

Anyway, I was glad to get the show on the road. Too bad Hop didn't join in. Isn't he claiming the Championship title already?

Motostoke
After the Ceremony, I got access to the Corviknight Flying Taxis. Now I will be able to go back anywhere I previously visited. In the next Log, we will head onto Route 3. Until the next time, we will see you!

Log #GL12-Route 3

Route 3
Before I left Motostoke on my way to Route 3, I actually had to battle Hop. For this fight, I had:
Grookey
Zigzagoon
Chewtle
Slowpoke

Chewtle battled Wooloo (Level 11), while Grookey battled Sobble (Level 14), and Zigzagoon battled Rookidee (Level 12). Having beaten Hop, I was free to explore the Route.

On Route 3, I caught Gossifleur (Level 13), which I named Milo, then I went through the task of hunting down a Sizzlipede. I knew that I could find one easier if I had a Flash Fire Pokemon. I caught a Vulpix, which I named Flashfire, then caught a Sizzlipede (Level 13), which I named Kabu. Vulpix went back in the box, and I continued to explore more.

Route 3 allowed me to train up Kabu and Gossifleur. I battled a few trainers, making my way to Galar Mine. Before I got there, I captured a Rolycoly (Level 10), which I named Gordie. Henry (Grookey) became a Thwackey. I want to get my Team to Level 16 before I move on to Galar Mine.

I currently have a rotating Team.

In the next Log, we will explore Galar Mine. Until the next time, we will see you!

What Pokemon are you looking forward to using on the team?
Right now, I am looking forward to Milcery/Alcremie. I know you can get the Sweet in Motostoke, but I forget where. I might have to figure it out, put it as part of my Route 4 posting. I don't want to get too far ahead right now.

Galar Mine
This area was good for the various battles with the workers. I was able to train a bit here. Having a healing person outside the mine helped. The workers were not that hard to fight, giving me valuable experience and money.
208px-Sword_Shield_Bede.png
The major fight here was with Bede, who I don't like (who likes Bede anyway?) Bede views himself as the entitled one. It was time to beat the drama queen down for the first time.

Vs. Bede
He opened with Solosis (Level 13) and I used Galarian Zigzagoon. Zigzagoon was able to beat Solosis, but not before getting hit with Endeavor.

I switched to Sizzlipede for Gothita (Level 15) and Chewtle for Hattenna (Level 16). It didn't take much to beat them down. Bede, as arrogant as ever, left, leaving me to train if I wanted to.

Rolycoly became Carkol before I left. I saved onto Route 4, getting ready to explore. Only one more Route to Turffield! In the next Log, we will take on Route 4. Until the next time, we will see you!
