TINA's Nuzlocke Series

After training up for a long time, i decide the time has finally come to do something about those Team Rainbow Rocket goons. I meet Lillie and Wicke in the Aether Paradise, and Wicke explains that these thugs came through an ultra wormhole, and that they named themselves Team Ranbow Rocket after the Kantonian mafia i rolled up so many times. Guess it's up to me to put this organization in the ground one last time. As i fight my way through the grunts in the courtyard, i see that somehow Team Rainbow Rocket has built an entre castle here; guess my training took longer than i thought. Lillie and i approach the castle when we're spotted by Faba, who it seems has turned coat.

Faba calls an Aether employee to help him, and they send out Granbull and Claydol; Lillie sends out her Clefairy and i send out Sakasama. Intimidate raises my attack, but Faba uses an X Defend as i hit him and Clefairy uses Light Screen; Granbull just goes for Snarl which does nothing. Clefairy provides me with a Reflect too and Granbull keeps Snarling my special attack up; shame i have no special moves. Eventually Claydol's health gets so low that i can take him out with Superpower, raising my Attack and Defense. Faba sends out his Hypno next, who puts our side of the field to sleep over two turns, starting with me so i can't kill him instantly. He only gets to eat Clefairy's dreams once though, after that i wake up and OHKO him. Faba's last mon is Bruxish who takes out Clefairy before dying to another Night Slash. Now it's a 1v1 versus the Aether employee who's still spamming Snarl. I take out Granbull and out comes Shiinotic. I opt to not risk a Dazzling Gleam and bring Christmas in, then i chip away at this foe until he spores me. Rather than wait out the sleep, i switch to Furutori on another Dazzling Gleam. I then Mega Evolve him with a mega stone i bought with all my surfing points, and i kill my foe with Iron Head, though Effect Spore does paralyze me. Scrafty is last; i switch to Fatty on a Snarl and kill it with Close Combat.

The defeated Faba explains that the boss of Team Rainbow Rocket collected thugs from across various dimensions to form the ultimate evil team and take over the multiverse. I guess this must be the multiversal threat Looker has been preparing me for, the one for which i was brought back from the dead. So i step inside, embracing my destiny. The teleporter to the top floor is locked though, as are most of the doors. We're ambushed by two grunts, but then Guzma suddenly appears to help me fight them off. Guess he wants to help save his love Lusamine too. We beat up the grunts together, then they flee through two of the doors. Guess these doors are open now; i give chase through one of them, and end up in a teleporter maze. However, one of the grunts in there pulls something seriously nasty on me. His Haunter outspeeds and uses Destiny Bond, taking poor Furuitori with him as i get the kill. Rest in peace Furuitori, you will be missed in the upcoming fights.

After this loss, i decide to call it a day so i can plan my next move.

Rather than training up a new team member, i decide to take Eus the Haunter onto the team for now, as death fodder. I head back into Team Rainbow Rocket's castle and into the west wing, where i find an item. However, it turns out this item was an Electrode in disguise. I panic and throw my master ball, thinking it's gonna explode. That works; i now have an Electrode, whom i name Master Ball. Eventually, after fighting my way through many grunts, i find a big door. I head through, and the person on the other side turns out to be none other than Archie. Wasn't he in Kyushu when that meteor struck? Isn't he dead?

However, when i walk up to him, he immediately recognizes me as the twerp who tried and failed to stop him. He tells me he managed to catch Kyogre and expand the seas at the cost of millions of lives. Guess he's from a world where he beat me. Can't let the same thing happen in this world though, so i challenge him to a fight, determined to succeed where the other me apparently failed. So i send out Sakasama as Archie sends out Mightyena; Intimidate raises my attack. I hit a Superpower for the OHKO, raising both my attack and defense in the process. Next up is Muk, so i keep Sakasama in and kill it with Psycho Cut. Crobat also dies to Psycho Cut, though he does poison me with Sludge Bomb. I decide it's probably safe to stay in vs Sharpedo, and i kill him with Superpower. However, it's now Kyogre time, and keeping Sakasama in is most definitely not safe. I bring Christmas in, protect against the first Thunder, and switch to Ozosnel on the second. I switch back to Christmas on a Hydro Pump and repeat the process until my foe has no Thunder PP left. I then have Christmas fire off a grass Z-move that does over half, while all Kyogre can do is hit weak Ancientpowers and not very effective Ice Beams. Unfortunately my next Energy Ball brings Kyogre into Full Restore range, but i have Recover so i can play the long game. Eventually, i get enough Energy Balls in for the victory.

I press the hidden switch behind a painting in Archie's room, then i head back and call it a day.

I go on a short surfing expedition, then i head back into team rainbow rocket's castle to explore the east wing. Here, in order to progress, i have to complete a puzzle where i have to step on the right tiles in the right order, all the while being harassed by grunts. I manage this and fight my way through, only to find myself face to face with Maxie. Like Archie, he immediately recognizes me as the twerp that failed to stop him, and he explains how in his universe, he managed to expand the land, destroying the environment in the process. Can't let that happen here, so i challenge him to a fight. I lead with Sakasama and he leads with Mightyena; Intimidate raises my attack. I outspeed and hit a Superpower for the OHKO, and next is his Camerupt. A crit Psycho Cut later and Camerupt is dead. Crobat also falls to that move, though not before poisoning me. After Weezing also dies, Maxie goes for his Groudon, and i opt to switch Sakasama out for Eus. Groudon's Ancientpower brings me down to my Focus Sash and triggers an omniboost while i use Rain Dance to get rid of his sun. This omniboost is a massive problem. I had originally planned to go for a hard switch to Christmas, but given the circumstances i opt to sacrifice Eus instead. Rest in peace my man, you had one job and you fulfilled it to the letter. Christmas comes in, tanks an Ancientpower that triggers another omniboost, and hits a rain-boosted Water Z-move that gets the OHKO despite the omniboosts. Guess they weren't as big a problem as i thought.

After that victory, Maxie sees that he shouldn't try to enact his dreams on a world that isn't his, and allows me to press the button behind his painting. I then head back to the main room, where i find the doors to the top floors have opened and Guzma is in a physical altercation with two Rainbow Rocket grunts. Maxie and Archie both come out to see what the fuss is, and upon seeing each other they immediately start an argument. Then, they suddenly vanish mid-argument. I'll worry about that later though; i have to find a way to open the path to Lusamine. With Ai the Luvdisc as my new death fodder, i head up the left stairs, where i find the kind of spinning tile puzzle Team Rocket loves so much. I have plenty of experience with these from all the times i drove them out of Celadon, so i navigate it with ease, only to find myself face to face with another ghost from my past. I had hoped to leave Cyrus behind in the Distortion World, yet here he is. He tells me about how he beat me in his world, then he got whisked away just as his new one was about to form around him. He asks me if this is in fact his new world; when i respond that it is not, he decides to challenge me to a fight to create his "perfect" world in this world.

Cyrus leads with Houndoom and i lead with Fatty. I get hit by a nasty Fire Blast, but my Close Combat gets the OHKO. Next is Honchkrow; i bring in Pikanai and get the kill with Play Rough. For Cyrus's Crobat, i decide to send Christmas onto the field; my foe takes me down to half as i get the two-shot with Water Spout. For the incoming Weavile, sending out Sakasama is the play; i shrug off an Ice Punch thanks to my Assault Vest, then i kill with Superpower. Finally, Cyrus sends out his Dialga. It's probably best to go for Ozosnel here; Ozosnel takes almost half from a Flash Cannon, then a Ground Z-move rids us of Dialga and wins us the match. This outcome convinces Cyrus to try and return to the perfect world he already created rather than trying to start the fight anew here, so he gives me one of the two keys needed to open the portal to where team Rainbow Rocket's big boss resides. The other key can be found up the other stairs, but for now, i'm calling it a day.

Up the other stairs, i find weird Meowth statues that will teleport me back to the room's entrance if they spot me, so i move carefully to avoid them and make my way to another big office room, where i find myself face to face with Lysandre. Team Rainbow Rocket really did gather all of my past enemies; i wonder when i'm gonna see Chairman Rose in here. But i guess i should deal with the threat in front of me first. Lysandre has two switches in his room, one of which will activate the ultimate weapon, and the other will deactivate it and open the door to team Rainbow Rocket's leader. Guess i'll just have to press both. When i press the first one, Lysandre tells me i chose wrong, and decides to battle me to stop be from pressing the second one. Lysandre leads with Mienshao and i lead with Pikanai. Lysandre u-turns to Honchkrow on my disguise, but i miss a Play Rough. The next Play Rough hits though, and takes out Honchkrow in one go. Pyroar is next, so i switch to Christmas and hit a Water Spout for the kill. Mienshao comes back and i switch to Fatty, who gets hit first by Fake Out and then by a Hi Jump Kick that does massive damage, but my Close Combat gets the OHKO in return. Gyarados is next, so i switch to Sakasama to get the attack boost from Intimidate. Lysandre mega evolves and hits a Waterfall that does almost half despite my Assault Vest and also flinches me. I've no choice but to risk the crit here, so i stay in and hit a Superpower that... doesn't kill. Gyarados survives on a sliver. I thus see little choice but to heal up as Lysandre does the same. The next Waterfall flinches me again, but after that i hit a Superpower that, thanks to the attack boost from the last one, does get the kill. However, last up is of course Xerneas. I switch to Ozosnel for this threat, and as my foe starts charging up a Geomancy, i crit my steel Z-move for the OHKO.

This win allows me to press the second switch, deactivating the ultimate weapon and opening the way to the boss. I head back to the bedroom where Lillie is, but as i'm about to step onto the teleporter pad, who comes through but my old nemesis, Ghestis. I should have figured this bastard would show his face in this place. He may have beaten me in his world, but in this world i'm about to stomp his team into the ground once more. I send out Sakasama and he sends out his Cofagrigus, but my Night Slash does just over half as he hits a Power Split. The next one however brings my foe to the red as he misses Will-o-Wisp, but then Ghetsis decides to heal. I keep hitting Night Slashes, and while i do eventually get burned, these weakened hits do get the best of my foe. Second up is Bouffalant and i switch to Christmas. Earthquake hits and powers down my Water Spout, then Ghetsis switches in his Hydreigon on my Grass Knot. I also decide to make a hard switch, to Pikanai. Pikanai comes in on a Dark Pulse that breaks his disguise, but then i outspeed and hit a 4x effective Play Rough for the OHKO. Bisharp is next; this is a job for Fatty. A single Close Combat takes my foe out, meaning it's time for both Bouffalant and Christmas to take the field again. Christmas tanks another quake and then crits Grass Knot for the kill. Only his Zekrom is left; not sure how he got that since Kitty was on my side when i fought Ghetsis in my home universe. Guess he stole it from his universe's me after winning that fight. Anyway, i switch to Ozosnel, who tanks a Dragon Claw and hits a ground Z-move for the OHKO.

However, this loss only enrages Ghestsis, who physically attacks Lillie when she demands he let her through to go see her mother. That bastard belongs in a jail cell, and i'll make sure he gets one. However, just as i'm about to send Ozosnel out to attack Ghetsis and incapacitate him, Colress shows up to confront his former boss. Not sure why he's here, but any ally is welcome i guess. He explains to me that he has developed a device to send people back to their home universes, which he tested earlier on Maxie and Archie. Colress also gets sent back, but when Colress offers to send me home too, i have to refuse since i still have an evil team to vanquish. Colress then tells me he can't yet restore the Aether Paradise to its old form because of a powerful presence on the other side of the transporter, so i head through to see what threat awaits me there.

On the other side of the teleporter, Lillie and i find ourselves in a control room, face to face with none other than Giovanni. Figures it would be him; guess i'll just have to put his organization in the ground one last time. He explains to us his goals to rule the multiverse from this base in the Aether Paradise, using the power of the Ultra Beasts to conquer all. I'm the only one who can stop him, so i send out Fatty as he sends out his Dugtrio. Dugtrio gets Stealth Rock off, but then dies to my Close Combat. Nidoking comes out next, so i send Ozosnel out, tank an Aqua Tail and hit Earthquake for the kill. For Nidoqueen i pick Sakasama who tanks a Sludge Wave, but one Psycho Cut doesn't kill so i have to risk a crit. That crit doesn't happen, and the next Psycho Cut gets the kill. Rhyperior is next, but he falls to Christmas's Water Spout. However, Giovanni's next pokemon is one i've never seen before, something he calls a "Mewtwo". I send out Pikanai as he mega evolves the thing, but then the Zen Headbutt hat breaks my disguise also flinches me. The next Zen Headbutt immediately brings me down to the red, but i then manage to hit a fairy Z-move that gets the OHKO. Victory is mine one last time.

This win allows Colress to break through and restore the Aether Paradise to its state from before the Rainbow Rocket invasion. Lillie finds Lusamine injured on the floor, but Colress and Guzma immediately come in and assure us that everything is back to normal and all team rainbow rocket members have been sent home. Lusamine then regains consciousness and thanks us for everything we've done. We spot Faba hiding in the corner; his position as branch chief is history, and he'll be lucky if he even finds a job as a janitor after everything that's happened.

During the celebrations, Looker appears to me once again. He informs me that my purpose, the reason for my resurrection, has been completed, and that i'm now free to live my own life. So i decide the time has come to go home and retire from the trainer's life. It's been a great life, but now it's time for other trainers to step up and protect the world from its many baddies.

As Colress sends me back to my universe, i take some time to commemorate the friends we've lost throughout our journeys through Hawaii.

Nr. 45 the Yungoos. You were never going to amount to much, but you still valiantly gave your life to allow us to beat Kiawe. RIP

Babette the Herdier. Your sacrifice against Olivia ended up unneeded, but we're still grateful you were willing to lay down your life for the victory. RIP

Daikuchi the Mawile. You joined us around Akala and contributed in many fights against Hau and other bosses, but then those two Psyduck ganged up on you in the Malie Garden. RIP

John the Hawaiian Dugtrio. You came in after we lost Daikuchi, and singlehandedly killed the totem Togedemaru. Then you valiantly sacrificed yourself so we could beat the totem Mimikyu. RIP

Lover the Ditto. You were never going to be good, but your sacrifice helped us beat the totem Mimikyu, and we're grateful for that. RIP

Rachel the Metapod. Like Lover, you gave your life to help us beat Mimikyu. RIP

Suzy the Magmar. You've been with us since the Wela Volcano Park, and you did cleanup duty against the allies of both Lurantis and Togedemaru. You were never my trongest team member, but we miss you regardless. RIP

Ingrid the Primarina. My starter, you were with us from the beginning, and you were pivotal in more battles than i can count. You were especially great against Kiawe and the various fights with Hau. Then Faba killed you in the Aether Paradise. Good thing he's out of a job now. RIP

Blargh the Vikavolt. You were with us almost from the start, and your role against the totem Gumshoos was invaluable. Your volt switches allowed me the maneuverability to win countless fights, and you were one of the most important players on my squad. However, Guzma proved too strong. You did great, and you were missed. RIP

Yegh the Jynx. You came in after we lost Suzy and you contributed a bit in the Lusamine fight, then two Mienfoo got the better of you. You weren't with us for long, but we're still saddened by your loss. RIP

Oogaa the Hawlucha. The star of the early game, you dominated all the boss fights on Melemele and Akala, even soloing the fight against the Araquanid. You also proved your worth all throughout Ula'Ula and the Aether invasion, but then you died because i didn't know my type chart. RIP

Mushijanai the Lurantis. You weren't with us for long, but you left an impression on the team for that brief time on Poni Island that you were with us. RIP

Erts the Boldore. You gave your life to stop Ultra Necrozma. RIP

Raphael the Tirtouga. Your sacrifice brought Kagamine Rin back to full health and allowed us to kill Ultra Necrozma. RIP

Kagamine Rin the Zoroark. You helped us beat Ilima at the school, then much later you rejoined us to kill Ultra Necrozma. You were also great in the battles in Mina's trial, but then a random Milotic crit you to death. RIP

May the Malamar. You served two stints on the team; the first time, you came in to replace Mushijanai and you didn't do much of note, getting replaced by Kagamine Rin so we could beat Ultra Necrozma. Then you came back for the league and contributed greatly in taking out the elite four, but sadly you died before we reached the hall of fame. RIP

Hikouki the Skarmory. You came in after Oogaa left us, and preformed amazing against Mina's Ribombee. You also did great work in the league, taking part in all four Elite Four takedowns, though sadly you did not live to see the Hall of Fame. RIP

99 the Drifblim. You were with us almost from the get-go, and took part in far more battles than i can regale here. You singlehandedly beat Hala, and you stayed with us throughout our fights against the captains of Alaka and Ula'Ula, Team Skull, the Aether Foundation and Ultra Necrozma, even reaching the League itself. Unfortunately though, we lost you just before the finish line. RIP

Ametori the Pelipper. You joined the crew after the league, but died during training. RIP

Pesci the Gyarados. You joined after Ametori's death, but that blasted Blacephalon crit you to death. You weren't with us for long, but we still appreciate your sacrifice. RIP

Nagai the Hawaiian Exeggutor. You came in after the league, but died in the Blacephalon massacre. RIP

Joanna the Drapion. Like Nagai, you came in after we became champions, but then that Blacephalon killed you. RIP

Hana the Florges. You joined us after we lost Ingrid, and your bulk saved us in many fights, proving particularly good against Hapu. You also did great in the league against Olivia, Acerola and Hau, being one of only three squad members to see the Hall of Fame. Then that Blacephalon ended your life. RIP

Modder the Hawaiian Muk. You came in after the Blacephalon massacre, but then two Gumshoos ganged up on you and killed you. You weren't with us for long, but we still felt the loss. RIP

Patrick the Starmie. You came in after the Blacephalon massacre and did great against Dexio, but then you died due to my stupidity. RIP

Harry the Heracross. You too joined after the Blacephalon massacre, but you never got to prove your worth as you died in training. RIP

Hello Kitty the Hawaiian Persian. You were with us against the totem Gumshoos and did good work there, then you rejoined us after Modder met his end. You did good work into Dexio and Ben, but unfortunately the fight with Ben proved too tough for you. RIP

Anne the Armaldo. You joined the squad after Lusamine killed Blargh, and your immunity to crits proved invaluable on more than one occasion. You even joined us for the league, putting in much work to earn us that Hall of Fame entry. You were one of the three to live to see the hall of fame, and then one of the two to survive the Blacephalon fight. You did great work against Dexio, but then Ben proved too strong. RIP

Duplo the Druddigon. You joined us when we lost Patrick, but sadly you didn't get to contrbute much before Ben got the best of you. RIP

Rikuhisa the Noivern. You were brought in specifically to fight Ben, and you gave your life for that purpose. RIP

Babuko the Gastrodon. You joined the squad after Ben killed everyone, but you died in training. RIP

Furuitori the Aerodactyl. You came in after the Ben massacre as the only member of this crew to ever be able to Mega Evolve, and you did great against Faba, but then a destiny-bonding Haunter took you out before you could prove your worth against the evil team leaders. RIP

Eus the Haunter. You were never going to reach your full potential, but we appreciate your sacrifice to get rid of Groudon's sun and let us beat Maxie.

All those sacrifices were not in vain. We stopped team Rainbow Rocket and saved the multiverse, so now i can head back home. After landing in my home universe, i head straight for the Resort Area, to my villa where Buikun eagerly awaits me. Words can't describe how happy i am to see him again here. And with that, i leave my career as a trainer behind me, knowing i'm the very best, like no one ever was.

After four years, this series has finally come to a close. Honestly hard to believe it's over. It's been part of my life for so long; so much has changed in my life so far. When i started this challenge, i was working on my bachelors degree, now i've had my masters for over a year and am looking for a job. Then, gen 9 ad just been announced, now we're in the leadup to gen 10. Then, i'd visit my grandma once a week to care for her in her old age, sharing the responsibilities with my dad. Now, both my grandma and my dad have left this world, leaving me behind. This series has helped me through some rough moments, and i doubt i'll ever forget the experience, even if i'm probably not gonna do another nuzlocke for many years.
