TINA's Nuzlocke Series

I head back to the Seafolk Village and speak with Mina there, and she tells me that to start her challenge, i must battle her. I agree and send out Hana who is actually Kagamine Rin, and Mina sends out Mawile. That's not a good matchup for me, so i switch Hikouki in on an Iron Head. Hikouki currently doesn't have a steel-type move, so the best i can do is Fly. I have Roost though, so i eventually win this war of attrition. Next is Granbull, so i send out Ozosnel. Two Heavy Slams take out my foe even after Intimidate. Last is Ribombee, so i go for 99. I tank a Fairy Z-move and strike back with a Flying Z-move for the OHKO. After this victory, Mina gives me a flower petal and tells me i need to fight all the trial captains in Hawaii to get the rest of the petals and beat her trial.

I fly to Melemele, and look around for Ilima. At the graveyard, i run into Hau who tells me he's finally beaten Ilima. He wishes me luck and hands me a PP Max. I'm sure i'll find a use for that. Anyway, Ilima is also in this graveyard, so i challenge him to a fight. He leads with Gumshoos and i lead with 99 who is actually Kagamine Rin. This is my foe's scariest pokemon, so i opt for a Dark-type Z-move right off the bat. I tank a not very effective Crunch in return, but my disguise is blown now. No matter; i tank a Hyper Fang while i two-shot with Night Slash. Next is Komala, so i send out the real 99. I waste all my foe's Sucker Punches by repeatedly Baton Passing out and then immediately switching back in. Once he's out of PP for that, i hit a Fly, and he kills himself with Wood Hammer recoil. Last is Smeargle who is a complete joke. I switch in Hana who straight up OHKOs with Moonblast while taking less than half from Extremespeed. Thus, i've earned the second petal.

Ilima offers to take me to the Lush Jungle for my next fight. There, i spot Mao running off; i give chase and find her and Suiren being harassed by some wild pokemon. The mons were apparently angry that Mao used the wrong ingredients in her cooking, but they head off the moment they see me so it doesn't matter. I challenge Mao to a fight; she leads with trevenant and i lead with 99 who is Kagamine Rin. My Night Slash sadly does less than half, but my foe's Shadow Claw does next to nothing. Turns out Night Slash was a range to 2-shot though; i hit the range and my foe goes down. Shiinotic comes out and i switch in the real 99, who 2-shots with Fly. Last is Tsareena, for whom i switch to Hikouki and fire off a Flying Z-move that misses out on the OHKO due to an attack drop from Trop Kick. No matter; i finish things with a regular Fly. Thus i've earned Mao's petal, and Suiren gives me hers for free.

We travel together to Wela Volcano Park, but when i go to look for Kiawe, all i find is his hiker friend. Kiawe shows up quickly enough though, so i challenge him and he sends out his Arcanine. I lead with Ozosnel, who tanks a Flare Blitz with half his health remaining and then OHKOs with Earthquake despite Intimidate. Talonflame is next, for whom i send out Anne. Anne easily tanks a Brave Bird and OHKOs in return with Smack Down. For his ace Marowak, i opt to send in 99 who is actually Kagamine Rin. The illusion doesn't matter though; i outspeed and OHKO with a Dark Z-move. Before Kiawe gives me his petal though, i have to fight his hiker friend too. So i beat him up and get the petal.

Next stop, Mt. Hokulani. I catch Sophocles in a discussion with Molayne, but he immediately stops that in order to battle me. He leads with Togedemaru and i lead with Ozosnel. Togedemaru desperately tries to protect himself with Spiky Shield, but on turn two, that fails and he dies to earthquake. Second up is Magnezone, who does half with Flash Cannon before dying to Earthquake. Last up is his Electric-type Golem, who hits me with a weak Stone Edge while i bring him down to Sturdy with another quake. I think i'm in crit range now though, so i opt to swap to Hikouki. Night Slash finishes things and earns me the 6th petal.

Up next, i head for the Aether House, but before i can enter, i find Guzma and Hau just hanging out and making small talk. Apparently they've become friends. Guzma even gives me a gift as thanks for stopping Necrozma, and he tells me he's turning his life around. When i head into the house though, i don't find Acerola there. Instead, i find Nanu who just gives me the final petal without a fight. Eh, works for me.

That means i'm finally ready to head back to the Seafolk Village and take on Mina's totem pokemon. This is a fairy trial, so Kagamine Rin will be sitting this one out. Instead, i'm taking Sakasama the Inkay. I head into Mina's house and show her the petals, which she shapes into a pretty flower. However, this flower attracts the totem Ribombee, so i now find myself in battle. I send out Sakasama, who tanks a hit with its Focus Sash and uses Topsy-Turvy to turn Ribombee's double omniboost into a double omninerf. Ribombee then calls on its ally Pelipper, and the rain starts to fall. I opt to switch Hana into a Scald that burns me and a Bug Buzz that does next to nothing. To my surprise, my following Moonblast doesn't OHKO Ribombee, but he just goes for Quiver Dance and Pelipper just goes for Stockpile. Ribombee then hits a Dazzling Gleam that might as well have done absolutely nothing, Pelipper goes for another Stockpile and i kill Ribombee. I'm kinda fearing Pelipper's Spit Up, so i switch to 99 on another Stockpile. It's Scald i need to fear though. It brings me into crit range in 2 hits, while i miss a Charge Beam and do very little with another. I decide the best course of action is to play the stall game, so i switch to Hikouki and alternate between Protect and Roost until he's out of Scalds. At least, that was the original plan. After i get burned, i decide it's probs too risky to Protect and take extra burn damage before Roosting. My foe eventually uses Spit Up, and it becomes clear to me that trying to stall him out without healing items won't win me this fight. I hit a flying Z-move, then i switch to Anne to avoid getting killed. Anne takes massive damage from Scald, but she can't get crit so she's the ideal person to constantly heal up until there's no Scalds left. Once he's out, i hit a Smack Down for the kill.

With the trial complete, Mina gives me the Fairium Z, so there's not only one trial left to complete. I step outside, and i'm greeted by Hapu who tells me to come t Exeggutor Island when i'm ready for our battle. For now though, i'm calling it a day.

My current team:

Kagamine Rin (Zoroark) lv 51
Hana (Florges) lv 53
Hikouki (Skarmory) lv 54
Anne (Armaldo) lv 54
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 55
99 (Drifblim) lv 53

Never thought Pelipper would be the problem

I get some training in, then it's time we face Hapu. This is a Ground trial, so no one will have to sit this one out. I take the boat over to Exeggutor Island, where Hapu is waiting on te far side. I walk up and challenge her, confident that my team can win this final trial. Hapu sends out her Golurk and i lead with 99, who immediately uses a Ghost Z-move for the one-shot. Next up is her ace, Mudsdale. I could make this a mirror match, but instead i opt to send Hikouki into the field. I use Protect, Fly and Roost to stall out his Paybacks, then i switch 99 in on what i thought would be a Double Kick, but what i got was Heavy Slam. No matter; i tanked the hit and my foe's HP was so low that Shadow Ball could kill. We're now up against Gastrodon, which is a task for Hana. Petal Blizzard doesn't OHKO though, so i have to tank a Muddy Water before my foe dies. Our final foe is Flygon; Hana stays in and tanks an Earth Power, then she responds with a Moonblast for the OHKO. Victory is mine!

As she gives me the Groundinium Z, Hapu tells me that traditionally i'd now face all the trial captains at the peak of Mt. Lanakila, but from this year on something has changed. I still have to head to that mountain, over on Ula'Ula, but i won't just have a fight with all the captains there. I don't feel up to the task yet though, so i train a bit and then call it a day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Hana (Florges) lv 55
Hikouki (Skarmory) lv 55
Anne (Armaldo) lv 55
Kagamine Rin (Zoroark) lv 55
99 (Drifblim) lv 55
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 55

Time to head back to Ula'Ula. I fly over to the Tapu Village and head north to ascend the mountain. At the mountain's base, i run into Gladion. He thanks me again for how i saved his sister and mother, and then tells me of his desire to become as strong as me. He's even acquired a Z-ring, and wishes to test it in battle. I see no harm in that, so i send out Anne as he sends out Crobat. Acrobatics takes me just below half, but Rock Slide takes him to the red. I opt to switch Hikuki in on another Acrobatics, get hit by another before i Roost, then take one more hit before killing with Night Slash. We're now facing what seems to be a Lucario but what also might be a Zoroark, so i send in my own Zoroark, disguised as 99. Turns out it is a Zoroark, and i get hit by a Dark Z-move that almost brings me to the red despite being not very effective. At this point weboth switch; Gladion goes for his actual Lucario as i go for Hana. This is clearly a bad matchup for me, so i switch to Ozosnel on a Metal Claw. Ozosnel is taken to low health by an Aura Sphere, but in return he kills with Earthquake. Zoroark comes back, without a disguise this time, so i send out Hana. I tank Hyper Voice with ease, and Moonblast gets the kill. That leaves Gladion with just his ace, Sylvally. Hikouki comes back out, tanks a Crunch and fires off a Flying Z-move that gets the OHKO.

With that, Gladion steps aside and lets me ascend the mountain. On its slopes, i catch myself a wild Sneasel, who shall be nicknamed Nyaru. I also find a severely weakened Necrozma in a crater on the mountain, but it's ugly so i leave it alone. Unfortunately though, things went terribly wrong shortly after. In a battle against a Milotic, Kagamine Rin got hit by a crit Hydro Pump and went down from full health. Rest in peace girl, you weren't with us for long, but you were pivotal in the battles you did partake in. Hikouki immediately got revenge and killed the Milotic, but that doesn't make the loss hurt any less.

Guess May the Malamar is coming back on the squad. I train him up, then i call it a day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

May (Malamar) lv 55
Hana (Florges) lv 56
99 (Drifblim) lv 56
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 56
Anne (Armaldo) lv 57
Hikouki (Skarmory) lv 56

My training is done, so i ascend further up Mt. Lanakila and find the Icium Z, completing my collection of Z-crystals. At the top, i find Professor Kukui, admiring his newly-built Pokemon League. He tells me that this is the challenge i must face here now that i've beaten all the trials, and that i may well be crowned the first champion. I'm not yet strong enough for this challenge though, so i'm gonna train some more.

After some training, i decide it's time to call it a day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 58
Hana (Florges) lv 58
May (Malamar) lv 58
Hikouki (Skarmory) lv 58
Anne (Armaldo) lv 58
99 (Drifblim) lv 58

The time has finally come. We're taking on the Pokemon League. We've come so far; this final challenge will be a true test of our mettle. As i walk into the building, Kukui explains that there are four paths i must choose between, each leading to a member of the Elite Four. I opt to first take on the leftmost challenge, and i find Molayne ready to challenge me. He leads with Klefki and i with Ozosnel. My foe sets up a layer of Spikes as Ozosnel destroys him with a single Earthquake. Next up is Metagross; Ozosnel stays in, tanks a Meteor Mash and brings his foe to the red with Earthquake. I decide o switch to Hikouki here as Molayne heals; this may have been a bad move. I end up spamming Roost to stall out his Hammer Arms, hitting Night Slash whenever he misses. Once he's out, a few more Night Slashes get the kill. Magnezone comes out next, and i opt to switch in May. May crits a Superpower to bring my foe deep into the yellow, but a Thunderbolt takes her to the yellow too. I outspeed though, so another Superpower takes my foe down. Next though is Bisharp and i'm not completely sure May outspeeds, so i switch to Ozosnel. Ozosnel gets hit by a Metal Sound that i don't care about, and strikes back with a Superpower for the OHKO. Molayne's now down to his ace, Dugtrio. I give this job to Hikouki as there's pretty much nothing Dugtrio can do to him; i just chip away with Fly plus a Flying Z-move until victory is mine. One down.

Second up, i head to the center left room, where Olivia waits. She leads with her Armaldo, but rather than making it a mirror match, i lead with Hikouki. I tank his Rock Blasts, heal up wit Roost, and fire off Steel Wing whenever i see an opening. This strat gets the best of my foe, so next up is Gigalith. I opt to send out May for this; the Sandstorm goes up, but Superpower raises my attack and defense and Bulldoze raises my speed. Another Superpower brings my foe to the red as he hits another Bulldoze, but i didn't use an Ether after the Molayne fight so i nowhave just 1 PP left for that move. I'd rather save it for another foe, so after Olivia heals i start spamming Night Slash against this foe. Big mistake. I get crit through all my defense boosts; we've lost May. Rest in peace girl, you did good. The sandstorm subsides and Ozosnel comes in to get the OHKO with Earthquake, but next is Glalie. I feel that this is a job for Hana, who hits a few Moonblasts and tanks a few Rock Tombs, but once she gets into crit range, i switch into Hikouki as my foe sets up Stealth Rock. Steel Wing finishes him, so Olivia goes for her ace, Lycanroc. Ozosnel comes back, easily tanks a Stone Edge and strikes back with a Ground Z-move for the OHKO. Last is Probopass; Ozosnel stays in, brings him down to Sturdy as he sets up a sandstorm, then Ozosnel kills. We won. We'll mourn the loss of May, but for now, we must move on.

Next up, i take on the rightmost room, where i meet the lady who showed me how to use the Flying Z-move. Kahili's her name, and she leads with Braviary. Hikouki has no problem tanking Brave Birds, and thus two-shots his foe with Rock Slide. Next up is Hawlucha, so i opt to send in Ozosnel. Flying Press does not bring me over half, while Heavy Slam does do that to him. Thus, i get the kill the next turn. We're now up against Mandibuzz, a task i give to Hana. A Moonblast and Brave Bird recoil bring my foe into heal range; two more Moonblasts get the kill. Now we face her ace, Toucannon. Anne comes in for this job, tanks a flying Z-move with just 16 HP remaining, and then crits a Rock Z-move for the OHKO. Last is her Oricorio, of the fire variety. I decide to give 99 some time in the spotlight, and spam Charge Beam for the kill. 3 down.

The last E4 room houses Acerola, the Ghost user. May would have been great here, but alas, that's not the world we live in. Acerola leads with Banette and i lead with 99. I thought 99 would be able to tank a hit, but it immediately becomes obvious she cannot; she gets outsped and one-shot. Why am i playing so terribly today? Anyway, Ozosnel comes in for revenge, gets Screeched at and hits an Earthquake for the OHKO, showing that 99's death was completely unnecessary. Next, we're up against Froslass, so i send out Hikouki. I get confused and blizzarded, but i nontheless get the 2HKO. For the incoming Dhelmise though, i have to switch to Anne. I spam Brutal Swings as Acerola spams Energy Balls; Dhelmise falls first. Now it's time for her ace, Palossand. Hana takes the field for this and hits a Grass Z-move that sadly misses out on the kill, then se gets hit by a Shadow Ball that lowers her special defense. I don't know whether i'm now in kill range for a Z-move, but i have no choice but to risk it. Turns out i was not, but after a Petal Blizzard, Acerola decides to heal. Two can play at that game; i heal, get crit, heal again as Acerola uses Iron Defense, then i get a few hits in before i have to heal again. I keep spamming heals until i see another special defense drop, then i switch back and forth to Ozosnel to ditch the drops. It is only at this point that i notice i've been using a physical move against a pokemon with massively boosted defense; I thought this move was special. Anyway, i finish him off with a Moonblast. Last is Drifblim, for whom i send in Anne, heal up as my foe sets up a useless Focus Energy (Armaldo can't get crit), then a few Rock Slides finish the job.

And that's the last of them. I head back to the main room and step through the glowing portal to reach the champions' chamber, where my throne lies waiting. The moment i take my seat though, Kukui walks in and tells me there's one other trainer i must beat before i can be crowned Hawaii's first champion. Another trainer has beaten the Island Challenge as well as all of the elite four; that trainer is none other than Hau. He sends out his psychic-type Raichu, and i send out Anne. I tank a nasty Psychic, but my X-Scissor gets the OHKO. Next is Crabominable; i send out Hikouki, get hit by an Ice Hammer and take to the skies. However, thanks to that Ice Hammer, i now outspeed, Fly misses and a second Ice Hammer gets the kill. I'm forced to bring out Hana, whose Moonblast gets the OHKO. We're now up against Tauros, so i bring in Ozosnel. I'm afraid Superpower won't kill due to Intimidate, so i instead go for Earthquake as my foe Double-Edges. I decide the course of action now is to heal; nothing dishonorable about that when you're fighting a 4v6. As i do so though, Hau switches out Tauros for Leafeon. My defense is boosted from Stamina, so i'm confident i can tank a non-crit while i heal Anne. That matter becomes trivial when Leafeon uses Baby-Doll Eyes; the next turn, i switch Anne in, but the leaf blade that hits him does almost half so i heal up to ensure we're not dealing with a range. The next one leaves me confident that i'm not a range to 2-shot, but then Leafeon opts to Charm my Attack into oblivion. Thus i have no quick way of disposing of him, and i have to continue the cycle of healing and X-scissoring for some time until my foe dies. Once he's down, Tauros comes back, as does Ozosnel. Another Earthquake gets the kill, but next is Hau's ace, Incineroar. I keep Ozosnel in, heal up to tank the incoming Z-move, heal up again, but then we get burned before we can fire off our own Z-move, which together with the intimidate means it doesn't kill. I use yet another Full Restore, tank two more hits, then i kill with Earthquake. Last up is Noivern, so i switch to Hana, tank a Super Fang, and then OHKO with Moonblast.

We did it. I did it. My team did it. We're now gonna be registered in the hall of fame for all eternity. May, 99 and Hikouki did not die in vain. We all head back to Iki Town together for a grand celebration, and visit the Tapu's shrine to give thanks. As we're doing this, i get a vision of the Tapu; will have to look into what that means. The next day, Hau comes to visit me and my mom. He tells me to head outside, where i meet the Ultra Recon Squad. They tell me that ultra beasts have been spotted on Poni Island, but rather tan deal with that now, i'm calling it a day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Anne (Armaldo) lv 61
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 62
Hana (Florges) lv 60

My crew will be joined by Ametori the Pelipper, Nagai the hawaiian Exeggutor and Joanna the Drapion. I train theseguys for a bit, then it's time to call it a day.

Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 62
Hana (Florges) lv 62
Anne (Armaldo) lv 63
Nagai (Alolan Exeggutor) lv 51
Joanna (Drapion) lv 61

Apparently the Vulpix on Mt. Lanakila can know Sheer Cold. We've lost Ametori. I head back to the planning table, and decide to take Pesci the Magikarp out of the box. During training, he evolves into the mighty Gyarados.

A lot of training later, i call it a day.

My current team:

Pesci (Gyarados) lv 42
Hana (Florges) lv 63
Anne (Armaldo) lv 63
Nagai (Alolan Exeggutor) lv 53
Joanna (Drapion) lv 63
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 62

With Pesci and Nagai finally up to speed, it's time to go hunt some ultra beasts. When i arrive at the Poni Grove, Wicke is there waiting for me, and she hands me a Type Null of my own to help fight the beasts, but it's ugly so i release it immediately. There's three ultra beasts in total; me and Hau catch the first two without issues, but the third one does a number on my team. It OHKOs Pesci due to a crit, and then Joanna, Nagai and Hana without crits. Rest in peace guys, your sacrifice was not in vain. We saved the world from these beasts; course, they're ugly so i do release them immediately. I head back home to spend the night before i head on my journey through the wormhole back to Buikun and my villa.

The next morning though, Sophocles comes to my home, asking for my help. Apparently a group of villains have invaded his festival plaza, and he needs my help to drive them out. Guess my journey home will have to wait a bit longer. I head to the plaza and find it infested with people calling themselves Team Rainbow Rocket; guess i haven't put that organization in the ground often enough. They apparently came here through an ultra wormhole and are now claiming the place for themselves. My own guys obviously aren't up for the task of beating them down right now, so i use the rental pokemon here to distract them while Sophocles hacks into the system to regain control. This works swimmingly; after Team Rainbow Rocket is thrown out, i head back home.

I decide to watch some TV; there's a live report playing on the Aether foundation. Good to see hose guys have seen the error of theirways and are now working for the good of all pokemon. However, just as the report is about to end, an ultra wormhole opens up above the foundation, and i see Team Rainbow Rocket storming in. Guess i'm not going home any time soon. Lillie comes charging into my home asking if i've seen what happened, and i agree to help out, though not immedately. My team is currently not up for the task, after the damage that Blacephalon did. I head back to the Poni Grove and catch a Heracross i nickname Harry. Harry will be joining he squad alongside Modder the Hawaiian Grimer and Patrick the Staryu. I also decide this is the time to search for more of those totem stickerthings; once i have a grand total of 80, i head back to Samson Oak to exchange them for a Ganon the Vikavolt and Pikanai the Mimikyu. The latter will be joining our squad. Before i train my new guys up though, it's time to call it a day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Harry (Heracross) lv 53
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 62
Anne (Armaldo) lv 65
Patrick (Staryu) lv 22
Pikanai (Mimikyu) lv 40
Modder (Alolan Grimer) lv 25

As training continued, Modder evolved to Muk. I kept training for a while, then i called it a day.

My current team:

Modder (Alolan Muk) lv 49
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 64
Anne (Armaldo) lv 66
Patrick (Staryu) lv 22
Harry (Heracross) lv 57
Pikanai (Mimikyu) lv 58

Patrick's training is starting, so i use a Water Stone to evolve him to Starmie. Some training later, i call it a day.

My current team:

Patrick (Starmie) lv 34
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 64
Anne (Armaldo) lv 66
Modder (Alolan Muk) lv 57
Harry (Heracross) lv 58
Pikanai (Mimikyu) lv 59

With my training finally complete, i head further into the rugged wilds of Poni Island, and catch Kumo the Petilil in the Poni Plains. As i'm exploring this beautiful wildland, i come across a grotto containing a Kommonium Z; we'll see if i ever get to use that. This is a nice place, so i decide to do some training here when something terrible happens. Two Gumshoos gang up on poor Modder, and kill him from full health with two Thrashes. Rest in peace Modder, you weren't with us for long, but you will be missed.

From here on, we will be joined by Hello Kitty the hawaiian Meowth. I train for a while, then i call it a day again.

Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 65
Anne (Armaldo) lv 66
Harry (Heracross) lv 61
Pikanai (Mimikyu) lv 64
Patrick (Starmie) lv 57

During her training, Hello Kitty evolves into a dark-type Persian. I keep on training, then i call it a day.

Pikanai (Mimikyu) lv 66
Patrick (Starmie) lv 58

With my training finally done, i decide to head on into Poni's beadows, but as i'm heading there i get interrupted by Dexio and Sina. They congratulate me on becoming champ, then they talk for a bit about how Z-moves compare to the Mega Evolution of their home region. Dexio wants to test in battle which is stronger, so i comply and send out Anne as he sends out his Espeon. Espeon's Psychic does over half, but my X-Scissor OHKOs in return. Up next is Metagross, so i switch in Ozosnel. Ozosnel doesn't even take half from a Metwor Mash, and Earthquake OHKOs. We're now on to Slowking, which is a job for Patrick. However, my Thunderbolt does less than half and one Powe Gem brings me into crit range; i can't play around the crit here. Thankfully, Slowking does not crit and i get the 3HKO. For the incoming Raichu, i go to Hello Kitty, who OHKOs after Raichu just sets up Light Screen. Now it's time for Dexio's mega though; he sends out Alakazam and i switch to Pikanai. Dexio immediately mega evolves his Zam and launches a Psychic, but all it does is break my disguise. In return, i hit a ghost Z-move for the OHKO and the victory.

Dexio gives me a short description of how mega evolution works despite my protestations that i already know, then he gives me an Alakazite so i can try it for myself. Would be nice if i had an Alakazam to give this to, but i never could figure out how Kadabra evolves. Anyway, we part ways and i make my way into the Poni Meadow. I catch myself a wild Cottonee in the grass, bestowing upon it the nickname Kumokusa. As i'm enjoying the pleasant sights and smells of this gorgeous purple meadow, i come across a cave, so of course my curiosity is piqued and i head inside. Big mistake; my sense of direction and all that. I end up catching a Druddigon inside whom i name Duplo, but then i end up lost, unable to find the exit. I come across a big green snake-thing in the depths, but it's ugly so i ignore it. After that though, i do something incredibly stupid. I somehow forgot that leaving Patrick in on a Ribombee is an idiotic thing to do. He of course died, and i have no one but myself to blame. Rest in peace Patrick, you deserved better.

Duplo will be joining the squad now, though rather than training him up, i'm gonna switch-train against the upcoming trainers. I've no more business in the cave, so i decide do explore in the other direction from the poni wilds and i head to the Poni Cost. It is on the way here that i run into my old friend Looker once more. He tells me that i am about to make destiny, that the event for which the powers that be revived me is soon coming to pass. That's kinda stressing me out, so i just decide to head on and see what future befalls me. I catch a hairy Dugtrio along the coast, and nickname it Doug. I then press on into the Poni Gauntlet, where i have an encounter with a wild Granbull. It ends up inside my poke ball; Fifi the Granbull is now mine. I beat up all the trainers in this area, then it's time to call it a day.

Duplo (Druddigon) lv 58

Going on vacation; it'll be a while before new updates come.

Decided to take up some training, when something horrible happened. An enemy Gumshoos one-shot Harry from full health with Thrash. Rest in peace Harry, you were invaluable in the postgame.

For the empty slot on my team, i opt to head to Route 5 and trade Maddie the Lillipup for a Noibat named Rikuhisa. Some training later, i call it a day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current team:

Rikuhisa (Noibat) lv 41
Ozosnel (Mudsdale) lv 69
Pikanai (Mimikyu) lv 70
Hello Kitty (Alolan Persian) lv 62
Anne (Armaldo) lv 69
Duplo (Druddigon) lv 61

My guys are all up to speed, so i think i'll go check out the battle tree now. The moment i step into the area though, i run into an old friend: Ben, my rival from Kanto. It's been a very long time since we last spoke, so we spend some time catching up on all that's been going on. We then decide to have a battle, to see how strong we've both become. Ben leads with Alakazam and i lead with Hello Kitty. My foe puts up a Reflect, which manes Feint Attack a two-shot. His Shadow Ball doesn't do a lot in return though. Next is Machamp, so i switch in Pikanai. However, the Reflect means that my Play Rough does less than half while Machamp breaks my disguise. Poison Jab is probably trouble, so i switch to Rikuhisa, who gets poisoned and takes over half from Poison Jab. Unfortunately i have little choice but to risk it, but Air Slash connects and all goes to plan; Machamp is dead. We're on to Gyarados, for which Hello Kitty comes back. I outspeed and land a Thunderbolt, but it only does just over half and he in turn kills me with Aqua Tail. This is bad. He hits everything else on my squad for supereffective damage. I opt for Anne because she can't get crit, but Gyarados doesn't need a crit to one-shot. Rikuhisa comes back, misses her move and dies to Ice Fang. I opt to bring Pikanai in now, who tanks a hit at 35 HP and launches off a Z-move that was probably overkill but gets the job done. Aerodactyl is next, so Ozosnel comes in and kills it with a Heavy Slam. Second last is Exeggutor, which is a job i give to Duplo. Exeggutor misses his first Hypnosis, allowing me to crit a night slash, but the second hypnosis connects and puts me to sleep before i can finish things. Psychic brings me into kill range, and there is nothing i can do about it. I try spamming healing items hoping he never gets a crit or a special defense drop, but of course he does crit eventually and Duplo goes down. Pikanai comes back and finishes Exeggutor with Shadow Claw, meaning Ben's now down to just one mon. Against his Arcanine, i bring out Ozosnel, who tanks a Flare Blitz and retaliates with an Earthquake for the kill.

Can this truly be called a win? all but two of my pokemon are dead. I don't think i'll be partaking in this battle tree thing, if the trainers here are this tough. I'll decide who to let onto my team next time; for now, i need time to mourn.

Pikanai (Mimikyu) lv 71

Fatty the Makuhita is back on the squad, and will be joined by Furuitori the Aerodactyl and Sakasama the Inkay. I also head to the Seafolk Village, where i trade Fifi the Granbull fo a Shellos named Babuko. She will also be joining the squad. She evolves into Gastrodon during training, but then i make a fatal mistake. I leave her in while she's in crit range from a wild Inkay's Superpower; i failed to account for the fact that Inkay's attack had been raised by the previous Superpower. The move crits, and Babuko is no more.

We will instead be joined by Christmas the Frillish. I continue training my new guys for a bit, then i call it a day.

Today, as i started to train Sakasama up, i felt a weird churn in my stomach. It was as if te world i exist in had suddenly flipped upside down. At the same time, Sakasama went and evolved into Malamar. I kept training for some time after that, then i decided it's time to call it a day.

Today i decided to take a break from training to do some surfing. Turns out i'm a natural at this; i break all surfing records without breaking a sweat. One of the surfing guys tells me the president of the Surfing Association might have something interesting for me, so i head to Heahea City to see. Turns out the guy has a surfing Pikachu that he's looking to give to one of the best surfers around. I name the little guy Pikanami.

After a day of surfing and relaxing, i decide to call it a day.
