The first segment is basically the continuation of the Explorer Admins vs. Roy, Ult and Friede. Fortunately, Coral and Sidian are both able to be reasoned with. Coral finds the battle fun just like how she's always enjoyed battling, while Sidian conceded their defeat, showing off the honorable side he always has. Chalce needed a bit more convincing however, as she used a Strong Sphere after Medicham's Mega Evolution wore off, but Roy managed to make her see the error of her ways.
To be honest, I think that the latter half of this battle had both good and bad elements. It’s good in that the admins are a bit more strategic than before, especially when Coral decided to make her Glalie use Self-Destruct once more, knowing that it’ll affect Ult’s Sableye due to the Refrigerate ability, something Ult wasn’t aware of. It’s also nice that the admins are aware that using Strong Spheres is the reason why their Mega Evolved Pokémon aren’t as strong as they are supposed to be. Though, I’m a bit confused on this because this is the first time Sidian is ever seen using his Aerodactyl for battle, and he never used a Strong Sphere on it. I do wish that the final battle with the Admins would’ve been a Liko, Roy and Dot match too, because Sidian, Coral and Chalce were like their personal rivals in a way.
I honestly liked the Liko segment in this episode a lot! Her group was very strategic with how they handled the Laquium-affected Pokémon. They all used their non-Terastal Pokémon, and made really good work of it. Cap riding on Pagogo to destroy the machines was great. Zirc’s Rhydon using Sandstorm, which then gave a boost to Ann’s Sandslash was also really good play! Everyone contributed in their own way. However, I do wonder why Amethio just used Perfect Form Zygarde to stop flying Pokémon in the sky. He has a Corviknight! It felt like a waste in a way, but I’m sure they’ll bring it back next episode. Also, having Armarouge's only contribution be to get knocked out by two Wild Pokémon felt somewhat contrived...
I honestly can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next, as Spinel finally shows up in person. The previews got me bouncing around in anticipation. He is my favorite character, and I can’t wait what he does now. No more hiding behind screen, Spinel! Let me know your thoughts on this episode!
