Registeel Legendary Arena debuts in Pokémon Masters EX alongside latest Legendary Gauntlet, plus 5★-Select Type and Triple Feature Poké Fair Scouts

  • Staff
Pokémon Masters EX's Legendary Arena is expanding this week, with the addition of a brand new battle area, focused on Registeel. The Legendary Gauntlet is also making a return, featuring Registeel together with Latios and Tornadus. Players finding themselves without the proper sync pairs to take on the Arena and Gauntlet will be able to take advantage of two new Scouts that are launching alongside this event, featuring a variety of Sync Pairs suited to these particular challenges.

Legendary Arena: Registeel
In the Legendary Arena, trainers must complete a set of challenges using up to 30 sync pairs. Originally only available as time-limited events, the Arena was opened permanently following the September 2022 update, allowing players to challenge these battles whenever they like. Registeel is the fourteenth Pokémon to be added to the Legendary Arena.

Registeel fights using a combination of field effects and stat changes to turn itself into a brutal tank that players will struggle to KO. On top of creating permanent field effects including Physical Damage Reguction and Special Damage Reduction to lower damage, stat changes for defense and Sp. Def will have a greater effect on damage output for this fight. A combination of debuffing moves and field effects will therefore be essential for Trainers to claim victory!

To challenge the Legendary Arena, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 2: Defeat Team Break! (Normal) in single-player.

Epic Battle Event: Legendary Gauntlet

3 powerful opponents arrive in Pokémon Masters EX with the return of the Legendary Gauntlet. Functioning the same as past Legendary Gauntlets, players will use the sync pairs they have raised to battle through Registeel, Latios, and Tornadus' Legendary Arena battles in succession. Players can use as many sync pairs as needed to complete these stages and rack up as many wins as possible. Once a sync pair has been taken into battle, however, they can't be used again regardless of the battle's outcome. Players can earn a variety of rewards by hitting certain win streak milestones, including BP Points, Move Candy Coins, a Guaranteed Lucky Cookie 11, and 1★-3★ Deluxe Lucky Cookies. This run of the Legendary Gauntlet will remain available until October 29th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
  • Latios is weak to Dragon-type moves while on its first and second HP bars, and weak to Ice-type moves while on its third. Latios is also joined by Dragonite and Salamence which are weak to Dragon-type moves. While on its second and third HP bar, Latios will have the Defense Crush 9 and Mind Games 9 Passive Skill which always lower it's target's defenses for every successful hit. Latios last appeared in the 5th Legendary Gauntlet, held across September and October last year.
  • Tornadus It is weak to Electric-type moves. Normally, Tornadus is resistant to physical damage while on its first HP bar, to special damage while on its second, and all damage while on its third, and it is also protected from critical hits while on the third HP bar. These protections can be negated by inflicting Tornadus with a status condition, although it is immune to all except Paralysis. If paralyzed, Tornadus will use Toxic one time early in the fight; otherwise, it will use Rain Dance instead. It has a chance of curing its paralysis after using a move with Self-Cleanse passive skill. Tornadus resists status changes, such as flinching, confusion, or trapped, with its resistance increasing each time it recovers from one, until it becomes immune. On the very hard difficulty and while on the third HP bar, Tornadus will have the Piercing Gaze passive skill which allows its moves to always hit. Tornadus last appeared in the 6th Legendary Gauntlet, held across November and December last year.
Ranking results will be available between October 31st at 11:00pm (PDT), and November 7th at 10:59pm (PST), allowing players to see the in-game rankings of the top 100 longest win streaks from all players, as well as the profiles of players on the rankings, and the sync pairs they used to achieve their streaks. Players will also be able to confirm their own rank so long as they are within the top 5,000 places. As of now, these rankings are only for bragging rights, and do not award any prizes to those players who manage to make their way onto them.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • Area info completion data will not be carried over to future Legendary Gauntlets, nor will they count for completion in the Legendary Arena

Halloween Events and Sync Pairs debut later this week
A post on the official @PokemonMasters account on X (formerly Twitter) has given us our first official look at an upcoming seasonal sync pair, showing Phoebe together with her new partner Cofagrigus. Phoebe (Fall 2023) & Cofagrigus will make their debut later this week, in a Seasonal Scout which will run from October 11th at 11:00pm (PDT), through to October 31st, at 10:59pm (PDT).

The short trailer also shows off some additional unannounced content, presumably from a new story event that should release alongside Phoebe's debut this week. Specifically, the trailer shows a few snippets of Phoebe in a short conversation with Roxanne, who seems to have a new seasonal outfit of their own, as well as Lenora, who has yet to debut as a sync pair a new outfit. No information on these new sync pairs has been released officially at this point in time.
