Pokémon: The Orchestra coming to South Korea in November to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary

Pokémon Korea has officially announced today that a Pokémon: The Orchestra performance will be coming sometime in November of this year in celebration of the Pokémon franchise’s 30th anniversary. Details regarding the program and its venue have not been announced, though Pokémon Korea has previously celebrated with Pokémon: The Orchestra for performances of music from Pokémon video games.

Pokémon: The Orchestra is a collaboration between Pokémon Korea and Flasic, a company which specializes in orchestral performances of video game music. In fact, the two companies have collaborated several times before, for Pokémon: The Orchestra: The Land of Myths in 2023; for Pokémon: The Orchestra: A Treasure Journey in 2024; and for their most recent Pokémon performance in May of this year. The most recent performance, in celebration of South Korea’s annual Sports Day, has been posted on Pokémon Korea’s official YouTube channel in anticipation of their upcoming show. That production featured the opening music from Pokémon Red and Green and the Terestal Form Gym Leader track from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, among other music.

The upcoming performance is part of the Pokémon Mega Festa, which is a title that encompasses several different celebrations including themed areas, merchandise, athletic events, and tie-ins with Pokémon GO. Specifics for the performance in November, including where and when it will occur and which Pokémon music will be played, are yet to be announced.

A similar orchestral performance series, featuring music from the upcoming Pokémon Winds and Waves, is scheduled to begin in Japan next month.
