With this week's change to the Battle Pass, the Battle Pass and Premium Pass will be combined into a single Battle Pass, with the following differences from the previous system:
- Battle Pass maximum level increased: 50 → 74
- Players will no longer be able to unlock Battle Pass levels via Crystals
- Players will progress quicker through each Battle Pass level
The Ranked Ladder is also being adjusted with the launch of Surging Sparks, with players now able to earn bonus points from win streaks, to allow players to more quickly move up the ladder. An additional new system will also be added at some point in the future for players who reach the Arceus League in the Ranked Ladder. No firm details have been given on this system at this time outside of it involving Rank Points.
December 13th Update
Next month, an additional update will be coming to TCG Live which makes dramatic changes to the game's economy. Up until now, players have been able to use the Coins they have earned to purchase a variety of cosmetic items for their avatars and decks. On December 13th, Coins will be entirely eliminated from the game. At this time:
- Cosmetic Items for Player Avatars will become completely free for all players
- Cosmetic Items for Decks, including Card Sleeves, Deck Boxes, and match Coins (that is, the ones you flip in-game) will now require Crystals to purchase
- Players will receive 1 Crystal for every 4 Coins they hold at the time of the update, up to a maximum of 1,250 Crystals for 5,000 Coins.
- Any Coins held over 5,000 will be wasted, and players are encouraged to spend any they have over this limit on Deck cosmetics prior to the update
