Revisiting Generation 3 (a quick update playing through LG again)

After picking up LG from the eShop for Pokemon Day, it's been great fun revisiting Gen 3, with its pluses and minuses:

--I now have a new appreciation for the Exp. Share after going back to grinding a lot
--Battles were more challenging back then
--I have noticed they sped up the force floors in the Team Rocket hideout in Celadon
--I'm mostly going off of memory, but I have looked plenty of stuff up trying to refresh myself

At the moment, I am exploring Pokemon Tower:

--Rei the Vulpix (training)
--Terra the Sandshrew
--Wings the Butterfree
--Lita the wonder Pikachu
--Mina the Pidgeot
--Brenna the Wartortle

I've been playing firered and can most certainly agree with you on the exp share point. I just barely got out of Cerulean Gym by leech seed stalling because my Ivysaur was the only one somewhat matching Misty's Starmie's level (even so I was still underleveled...)

I personally think that the old games having a noticeable level gap that you might feel compelled to shrink down is a small flaw. Grinding your team up for the elite 4 is not fun, it's annoying and repetitive. That was especially true for my playthrough of Fire Red. And unlike Sinnoh trainers, which do get stronger teams on VS Seeker rematches, FRLG trainers don't really get stronger teams until you become champion. Or at least, the trainers that do get stronger teams, don't get strong enough to provide that much meaningful EXP.

On the plus side, they are good for getting money.

About The Songs of Wandering Gods (inspired by Agents of the Four Seasons and Final Fantasy)

In a fantastic Waku in a Pokeworld far from the one we know, four gods sang the elements of earth, fire, wind and water into existence, creating the world and all life within it. But little did the gods know, that as soon as they returned to heaven, the demon king Yami would look upon their new world with jealousy.

Yami rallied his demon armies, and devastated the fledgling world with shadows. The winds faded, the waters began drying up, the earth decayed, and even the fire of hope began to fade in the people's hearts. But the seer Natsume offered a prophecy of hope--"In the darkest hour of the night, the four gods will return, and use their sacred song to restore the rule of light."

Many waited for the gods to return--but they didn't look like what they expected. They appeared human, just like them.

The god of Earth took the form of Takeshi, a young man supposedly from Silver Village in the mountains whose skill with the harp belied a master archer.

The god of Fire took the form of Satoshi, a young man supposedly from Pure White Village whose courage and heart rivaled a phoenix.

The goddess of Wind took the form of Serena, a young woman supposedly from Pure White Village who had spent time traveling. But when she was home, she and Satoshi were never far apart, much like the wind fans flames.

The goddess of Water took the form of Kasumi, a young warrior supposedly from Azure Town, a port town famous for its many water features and fountains. But when mortals were in danger, she struck like a dragon's fury.

Together, the four gods embarked on a long journey across Waku, to defeat Yami once and for all, and fulfill Natsume's prophecy...

Aura Guardian Fantasy Idea (inspired by aura guardian lore of movie 8)

In a region not far from Kanto's northern border, tales are told of people that can manipulate the very aura of living things--what many call "magic". These Aura guardians, as these people are called, make their living traveling around their homeland, keeping the peace and protecting the people and Pokemon from rogue Pokemon, monsters, and other troublemakers.

Our story concerns four best friends who are known in the High Lodge at the capital of Rota as the "Guardians of Music"--so named because they disguise themselves as minstrels to track their target--and the target is often unaware of their true nature until it is too late.

The four members of the Guardians of Music have a few unspoken rules among each other:

--Do not reveal yourself as an Aura guardian to anyone you do not know well. Only those at the High Lodge, and trusted allies, know what you truly are. To anyone else, you are traveling minstrels, colorful costumes and all.

--Only use your ability to protect yourself, innocents, and property. Don't use your power on frivolous duels. If challenged to any manner of duel, only accept if a fellow member or innocent is at stake, or some other dire circumstance. If asked to compete in a tournament, donate any prize you cannot use to the less fortunate.

--Know your limits--if an opponent is too strong, or you are in immediate danger, it is okay, and welcome, to run and fight another day.

Together, the four Guardians of Music--Ash, the Song of the Phoenix, Misty, the Song of the Dragon, Brock, the song of the Raikou, and Serena, the Song of the Delphox--travel around the unnamed region--and every job is a new surprise!

Two Possible Ideas (one a reboot of a long dormant collection, and one a fun idea inspired by @kintsugi)

Idea A: A reboot of a Pokemonized folktale collection, set around the frame of the group around the campfire somewhere in Kanto. Would include tales that reflect what has come out since the collection's last iteration (Sword/Shield era, so this would include SV and possibly Wi/Wa lore, when we do get more Wi/Wa info.)

Idea B: (inspired by @kintsugi)--a slice of life traveling adventure around ancient Waku (my Poke-Japan)--no battles, no save the world--just a fun little travelogue in a certain corner of the Pokeworld.

Which idea would you want to see more? Or would you want to see both?

Oooooh.
Both sound really cool!
