After completing my second playthrough of Digimon Story Time Stranger I felt the need to start fresh again. So a new playthrough was born. And I'll be documenting it this time in this blog for fun so you can watch and hear my progress in probably my favorite PS5 game.

Anyway, started a new file with the male PC. Named him Red because he has red hair and for funzees. So we got the opening movie. Literally. God, that Agent Alpha opening completely blows a lot of games out of the water these days coughScarletVioletcough. Then we meet Red who is given instructions from the "Operator" to go check out the Wall of Hope. Sounds straightforward enough. After working my way through the crowd a convenient earthquake and woman falling down distracted a special unit guy and dropped the barrier blocking my path into the underground. And here we meet our first three phase electron lifeforms... or rather Digimon (I swear, this game not only has a higher reading level but is much more respectful to the player's intelligence). Anyway, we get to pick our first "starter": Patamon, DemiDevimon, and Gomamon. Naturally, I picked Patamon since you can get the pre-evos for DemiDevimon in the first "dungeon" and Gomamon in the second "dungeon". Plus I love that flying potato. He's so cute!

Anyway, after engaging in my first Digi-battle I downloaded the item packs I had from the DLC, allowing me to add Agumon (Black) and Gabumon (Black) to my ranks, giving me 3 Mons already. To this day I wonder why Agumon (Black) and Gabumon (Black) tend to be DLC, sometimes even locked behind pre-order codes? Like some of the DLC Digimon like the Banchos and X-Antibody I get, but why are these two always locked behind a paywall or some sort of code? Why not just let them exist in the game like all the other ones? Anyway, that enough of a tangent. Moving on, I equipped the USBs I got from said item packs to my Mons so I can start reaping their benefits right away. Oh, also, I nicknamed my Digimon: Glide the Patamon, Blackfire the Agumon, and Blackfang the Gabumon. After battling and DigiAttacking Digimon I ran for my bloody life from a Virus MetalGreymon, meeting the Girl to be Protected. After some awkwardness it was time to move forward. After picking up the Icicle Edge 1 Equip Skill I made my way out.

...Only for Virus MetalGreymon to follow. Things look bad. But Omnimon comes to the rescue! Funnily enough, his first Transcendent Sword scored a Crit, thus the battle was over pretty quickly. Plus Blackfang's Little Horn is an Ice element attack, which the big lug is weak to, so the battle ended quicker than its "supposed" to be. Anyway, after getting out of that big ol' hole I gained access to Converting, thus I converted Omega-xis the Koromon. He joined the team for now but I do have plans for him. After exploring the outside of the Government Building for goodies I spent a fair bit of time collecting Scan Data and Converting several Digimon. I've noticed that in this stage in the game most Rookies give 50% Scan Data as opposed to the normal 20% later on. There are exceptions, however, such as Gazimon, Keramon, and ToyAgumon, for example, who only give the 20% upon first battling during this stage for some odd reason. And I've noticed that Kotemon still gives 50% Scan Data later in the game. Possible oversight on that one?

Anyway, after collecting items, Scan Data, and Converting at least 24 Digimon I started to shuffle my team around a bit. After a bit I settled for the "current" team of Patamon, Gabumon (Black), Agumon (Black), Monodramon, Dracomon, and Tentomon, giving me 2 of each main type. Also the latter three are named Ryu, Teepo, and Buzzwing. No points for guessing where the first two names come from. Anyway, after spending some time grinding I decided to be brazen and battle Chaosdramon. Sure, I got wiped instantly but that's why I always start a playthrough on Story Mode so I can ease into the game and enjoy it more. So that also means Invincible Mode when you lose a battle. So that's what I did. Poor Chaosdramon, getting bodied by Rookies because of a built-in cheese mode. That must've been embarrassing. Also I gave Icicle Edge 1 to Ryu so he'd have a massively super-effective move on Chaosdramon. Plus I tend to give my first Monodramon Icicle Edge 1 for good early coverage. So after rotating my team around so that I'd have 1 Data, Virus, and Vaccine on the front line (as I had shifted it prior to the Chaosdramon fight to 2 Vaccines and 1 Virus to take advantage of type/element match-ups) I stopped for the night there.

My Team:

Frontline:
Glide the Patamon
Ryu the Monodramon
Blackfang the Gabumon (Black)

Reserves:
Buzzwing the Tentomon
Blackfire the Agumon (Black)
Teepo the Dracomon

Also, most of the Mons in the team are at Levels 7-9, depending on the Mon (I don't remember which one is what Level), especially since they gained a ton of levels from the Chaosdramon fight. I plan to continue tomorrow after I take care of some last-minute cleaning and maintenance for my yearly apartment inspection on Friday. But what awaits our intrepid team at the top of the Government Building? We will find out next time.

Good luck on this run! Won't be reading in detail because I'll buy the game in July but I'll be popping up from time to time.

Time for the next installment of my Digimon Story Time Stranger run. We're, like, a stranger to time, man.

Anyway, after grinding for enough Scan Data and whatnot I progressed with the exploration of the ruined government building. But thanks to a man-made weapon I got separated from Girl to be Protected, forcing me to try to find another route. Ran into a Biyomon who tried to help me fly across the gap the machine made but he couldn't quite make it. It's not his fault. He tried his best. Anyway, time for more Scan Data grinding and battling to try to get my Mons up to higher levels. In the process I got my first Champion: Kurisarimon, which I Converted from Scan Data. But I won't be using it so it's going in the box. After Scanning, Converting, and Digivolving a ton of Digimon (some of which are going to be fodder for Load Enhancement, hence why I named them "Fodder" so I wouldn't get confused), I progressed with the plot and made it to the top of the government building. ...Where a war was taking place. And had to fight my way through a Kuwagamon, gaining access to Cross Arts in the process. I had also shuffled around my team a bit to better adapt to the boss, taking out Teepo and Buzzwing and replacing him with Kaiser the Ryudamon and Tigatron the Bearmon, so I'd have more advantages over the Kuwagamon. One roasted bug later I encountered Girl to be Protected and a strange dark shadow that tossed me like a ragdoll. Then the man-made weapon appeared as the dark shadow tried to make its way to Girl to be Protected and things look grim.

...Only for a portal to open up and a giant golden fist to emerge and slug the weapon so hard it created a massive explosion. Exodia, was that your doing? We just witnessed the end of the world! ...With some patchy sunshine predicted later in the week. Anyway, after somehow surviving the nuke-like blast I ended up in a temple with two little Digimon and a short snake-clad female Digimon, who I learn are Minervamon, Coronamon, and Lunamon. Minervamon immediately thinks I'm a threat and am after this "egg", calling me an egg thief, but Lunamon notices I'm a bit confused and disoriented and tries to be the reasonable one. ...Only for that dark shadow to appear again. Minervamon tries to fight it off but it repels her easily. Aww... Coronamon and Lunamon have Affectionate Nicknames for Minervamon. How cute. But that dark shadow is on its way toward this "egg" so it's up to me to stop it. And stop it I did... only to knock the egg off its perch, causing it to smash into the weird floor we're on and caused us to plummet into the abyss. Something tells me that "egg thief" name isn't going away anytime soon.

Anyway, I crash-land in some sort of park. Seeing a crowd I investigate and meet a Man with Glasses who is trying to rescue his daughter but some public safety individuals named Shota and Asuna prevent him from trying to rescue his daughter. Something tells me he has connections to them as he mentions something that the organization "never changes", something that Shota also notices. The Man with Glasses goes off on his own. Guess I better follow him. After picking up a Talent Booster chip I meet up with the Man with Glasses and learn the situation: his daughter is trapped in the underground. But the gate is locked. No worries. One punch from Ryu is all it takes to break the lock. So we investigate together.

And in the underground is not only crawling with Digimon, something that this man is familiar with, but also the fledgling streamer Hiroko. If she's such a scaredy-cat then why investigate areas with potentially supernatural problems? Well, that's streamers for you: always trying to get viral content. But now it's time to explore the underground and find this man's daughter who I now know is named Inori. Could it be the same as the Girl to be Protected? Perhaps. Let's find out.

But like I said the underground is crawling with Digimon. Lots of new breeds, too. So, like any sensible person and agent, what do I do when a girl is in danger? Why run all around the area, battling as many Digimon as possible and letting them respawn so I can collect as much Scan Data and Convert as many Digimon as possible for later. Because of all the back-and-forth, battling Digimon, collecting Scan Data, and Converting new Mons it caused my Digimons' levels to go up. And in the case of Blackfire and Blackfang, they reached their level cap. So I had to swap them out with two new Virus types: Aquamarine the Gizamon and Heatblast the Guilmon. After spending too much time running around, collecting Scan Data and Converting, I figured it was time to move forward and rescue Inori, though I stopped here because some new "problems" have arisen so I need to tend to those first.

My Team:

Frontline:
Glide the Patamon
Ryu the Monodramon
Heatblast the Guilmon

Reserves
Tigatron the Bearmon
Kaiser the Ryudamon
Aquamarine the Gizamon

All my Digimon are around the Level 11-15 mark thanks to my grinding. What horrors await us in the deepest depths of the underground? Tune in next time to find out.

Sorry for not updating in a few days but I've been pretty busy lately. I played on-and-off for a bit over the past couple of days but didn't report it at the time because of other events. Now that I've gotten some more free time I was able to both make progress and report my progress. So time to continue our journey mucking around throughout time.

Anyway, after doing a satisfactory amount of grinding and Scan Data collecting I confronted Inori. She's trying to take care of a very timid Elecmon that she's named Coo. How cute. But then a Raremon comes slithering into the picture, with the intent to kill. That can't be good. At least it's fitting to find a slimy, rotting creature in an underground waterway (sewer, I guess?). Time to be a good agent and save the day. Coo high-tails it upon Inori's prompting, leaving the goop monster to me. But nothing my band of Rookies can't clobber. And clobber they did, sending Raremon straight to the recycling bin. But we need to skedaddle before those pubic safety goons come.

After Inori got scolded by her father, and I had a brief flashback at the ruined government building, which is completely intact right now, we made our way to their house, where they offered me a place to stay. How nice. I'm certain there's no ulterior motives behind letting me stay, right? Well, there was. Kosuke, Inori's father, wants to learn more about Digimon from me since he realized I'm an agent and know more about them than he does. For now I'm not saying anything but it's clear he wants that info for something. But that can wait. I was able to regain contact with the Operator and learned I've been flung back in time 8 years. That... can't be good. But after some calibration of a updated locator and learning some gossip I made my way to a alley tucked away nearby the Misono household. As a result I've discovered the In-Between Theater and meet a mini version of everyone's favorite cryptic maiden: Mirei. She's becoming a staple in many of the most recent games, hasn't she? Be it Cyber Sleuth, Hacker's Memory, Next 0rder, and now Time Stranger, she's somehow always appears. Well, whatever.

Anyway, after spending waaaay to much time in the In-Between Theater, training my Digimon, boosting their bond with Digifeed, adjusting their Personalities, and mucking around the DLC Outer Dungeons for Yen and Courage Point II items it was time to head back to the Misono attic to rest. The next day I gained access to Agent Skills, which I immediately started messing with. Gained a new Cross Art in Burst and tweaked some of my Mon's stats while trying to gather up enough Anomaly Points so I can get the Agent Skills that reduce the required stats for Digivolution. But that'll require more Anomaly Points but at least I managed to get some progress on that.

Anyway, met Hiroko again and it appears she's sniffed out another site for paranormal activity for her occult streaming platform, and learned a bit of backstory between her and Inori. And speaking of sniffing things out, Inori now knows I'm an agent after learning it from her father. Figures. But after a bit of chatting we tracked down where Hiroko wants to farm for views. Also rearranged my team slightly for greater balance, taking out Kaiser and replacing him with Rika the Renamon (no points for guessing where the name came from). Anyway, in the process we run into Elecmon... I mean Coo again. He's still such a scaredy-cat... rabbit... peacock... mammal... thing. And I learn a bit more about Inori. Sounds like something bad happened to her. But that can wait. It's time to track down Coo. After a lengthy chase around the underground, battling Digimon, collecting Scan Data, Converting more Mons, and clearing pathways to chase after Coo we find a very large area. I sincerely doubt this will lead to a boss or something. After getting a bit more history on Inori we do indeed run into a boss: Cyclonemon. And it's clear he's gunning for Coo. That's... an oddly specific target for some big Digimon to hunt down. But the battle beings.

Thanks to my new Cross Art I dealt some heavy damage to the big brute. But he was clearly gunning for Coo since he targeted him with Hyper Heat. After a touching moment with Inori Cyclonemon goes for the kill. Only for Coo to Digivolve into Aegiomon in response to Inori's emotions. Now he's no longer a coward (and can talk now, too), so it's time to trash this big brute. And trashed we did. We sent him to the hereafter. After getting Aegiomon back to the Misono household and getting a surprising moment from Kosuke where he's a lot more accepting to the situation that I thought it was time to call it a night.

The next day we head out again. Now Aegiomon has to wear some clothes and a hat to disguise himself when out in public. I'm honestly surprised he can wear shoes so well when he's got satyr hooves for feet. Anyway, we meet Dr. Monica Simmons. Eccentric, very much so. But she seems like an actually decent person who genuinely wants to learn more about Digimon. And she's blonde. My favorite flavor. We also meet Kodai Kuremi, probably one of the more cooperative members of public safety. That name, though. Surely he can't be the father of another certain blonde we've meet before, is he? Anyway, we engage in Simmons' experiment, testing the power of a prototype shield they developed. Okay, she is very eccentric, and a bit too enthusiastic when it comes to her projects. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. At least she seems pretty straightforward and honest. Not so sure about the rest of public safety but we shall see.

Anyway we wrap up the day with Aegiomon playing tag with some kids who mistaken him for a kid. I mean, for a Champion-level Digimon he is kinda short. Taller than some like Gatomon or Numemon but not exactly as tall as Angemon despite both being humanoid. Or maybe I don't know enough about satyrs in mythology to know if they're just naturally shorter, since Aegiomon is clearly based off of one. But the next day rolls around and it's time to meet up with those kids who want to play with Aegiomon. And Inori comes along for the ride. What will happen next?

Yes, this time I actually remember what the team's Levels are. This should give you an idea of where I'm at now. But what awaits us at the park? Surely nothing bad, right? ...Right?

Another day, another migraine. That's why I got no progress done yesterday. Boy, this migraine season is going to be bad, that's for sure. Anyway, on with the show.

Another day dawns and Aegiomon wants to play. But first things first, we get our first side-quest. Time to build up goodies, Yen, and Anomaly Points to raise my Agent Rank and get more Agent Skills. After taking care of the side-quest we went to the park so Aegiomon could play. However, trouble is brewing: the kids are missing. That can't be good. After some amateur (cyber) sleuthing we found where the kids went: into an Outer Dungeon, curtesy of two Vademons who are interesting in eating those kids?! Well, time to be a good agent and stop them. One Cross Art Burst later they go down in flames. Aegiomon protects the kids from Vademon's last attempt only for his identity to be revealed, freaking out the poor, terrified kids. So much for that playdate... Poor Aegiomon. We go back to the Misono household with a depressed Aegiomon. A very touching cutscene between Aegiomon and Inori follows, sprinking in some foreshadowing and mythology. Inori may be on the money with Aegiomon.

The next day there is a news report of a rift in the sky. Guess it's time to save the day again. But first more grinding for Scan Data and Yen. After collecting Scan Data, Converting more Digimon, and doing a bit of training/feeding in the Digifarm it was time to head to the location of the anomaly.

And we run into none other than Minervamon who comes tumbling out of the portal! Along with a giant Virus Greymon! And she's still calling me "egg thief". I knew that "title" wouldn't be going away anytime soon. But it's time for a team-up between my band of Mons and Minervamon to take down this Virus Greymon. After a fierce battle Greymon goes down. And Minervamon flees with me back to the Misono household so we can discuss things and try to figure out what our next plan of action is. After going over the details we decide to call it a day and pick things up tomorrow. Sounds good to me.

The next day comes and with it some new Anomaly Points, which I promptly put into my Agent Skills, raising my Agent Rank to Rank 3, thus I can now Digivolve into Champion level. Good timing, too. Plus I managed to get a couple of Digivolution requirement reducers in my Agent Skills, thus I was able to Digivolve a fair few of my Rookies. Not all of them, sadly, as some still required work, but most of them. I also had to shuffle my team around a bit more because Aquamarine couldn't Digivolve into the form I wanted it to just yet and I was getting a bit Vaccine-heavy in my team (why must we be restricted to just 6 slots? CS and HM gave us 11 so why not give us a larger party? At least bump it up to 9 slots so we'd have some variety). Anyway, Aegiomon suggests we talk to Dr. Simmons again for her help in tracking down that egg again. Sounds like a good plan.

After leaving the Misono household and meeting up with Shota we took a brief break from our mission to take care of some more side-quests, increasing my Anomaly Points and giving me more Agent Skills. As a result I was able to get more Digimon to Digivolve thanks to the battles and getting more Digivolution requirement reducers in the process. Anyway, after taking care of the available side-quests we found Dr. Simmons. Turns out her team has a detector that can track Digimon, but it's only a prototype so it can only track them. But that's good enough for us. But we need to help her team with a problem. The ol' "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" routine, eh? Well, if it gets the job done then so be it.

We met up with Shota again and learned that some BlackGatomon stole an activation switch and escaped into an Outer Dungeon (which Minervamon name-dropped upon entering). After play an elaborate game of tag with the BlackGatomon we defeated them in battle and got back the device. We met up with Dr. Simmons again and got the prototype detector. She's quite interested in my Digivice and who I'm working for. Not sure if that's something I should be concerned about. Anyway, with the detector in hand we find a location that seems to suggest that the egg is in the same location where we found Elecmon and that Cyclonemon.

But first a quick rest and finishing off some side-quest stuff. As a result I was finally able to get the last few Digivolutions I needed taken care of. And, in the process, I got a Digimon that I would normally not gain access to until much later: Lanamon/Ranamon and Calmarimon. Though I will admit I fed Aquamarine some of my fodder Mons via the Load Enhancement that couldn't Digivolve yet, thus boosting her stats and Talent, giving me enough to Digivolve her. The reason why I try to get her as soon as possible is because she gives you an Ultimate-level Digimon's strength and stats before you're even allowed to have an actual Ultimate via Agent Rank. That's the beauty of the Spirit Evolutions: they give you certain Digimon power levels without needing the Agent Rank to have them normally. Anyway, I shuffled my team around again before resting.

And then Hiroko shows up and we learn of a dark shadow near the subway. The same dark shadow that we met at the temple in Iliad and just before the Shinjuku Inferno. So off to the train station. After pursuing the dark shadow down the tracks and into the tunnel we ended up exactly where we ran into that Cyclonemon. And now the area is littered with Goblimon. Time to clean house and Convert a ton of Goblimon for Load Enhancement fodder for later. After spending too much time farming for Goblimon Scan Data I collected (and Digivolved) enough of them to continue with the plot. Plus I wanted to get my Digimons' Levels up a bit more since I just know something bad is going to happen. Anyway, after Minervamon busts down a door where the dark shadow went we enter a strange chamber. What awaits us in this chamber? We're about to find out. But first a break.

Time to keep the Digi-train moving! And no, I don't mean Locomon. Time for my digital adventure to continue!

Okay, before moving forward I "fed" some of my fodder Digimon to certain Digimon in both in my party and in my box. Might as well use them since that's the whole reason I Converted them. Gained a few more levels in the process and stronger stats. Now, after doing that I progressed onward... and found a cracked egg. Looks like the Great Guardian has already been born. And it appears Aegiomon might be that very Great Guardian. It would explain why two nasty Digimon: Raremon and Cyclonemon, seemed to be gunning for him when he was just a timid Elecmon.

But we've got bigger problems: Titamon brute forces his way through a gate and confronts us. Time for a big battle with an even bigger Titan than before. However, despite Titamon's best efforts we were able to trounce him before he even had a chance to use his Soul Core Attack. After Minervamon knocked him back into the gate he opened we all got sucked in right after him! Me, Inori, and Aegiomon reawaken in some kind of tunnel. Time to explore. We find the exit... and emerge in Central Town in the Digital World! And cue title drop.

Anyway, after exploring a bit, buying some Skills, Accessories, and DigiFeed we made our way to the tavern to see Merukimon. But Knightmon bars us from entering without proof of our friendship with Minervamon. So we need to get said proof. After checking out Minervamon's home we run into Coronamon, Lunamon, and two Bearmon. Looks like the Bearmon Brothers are cocky jerks who like to cause trouble, and they end up baiting Coronamon into going into the sewers to pinch PlatinumNumemon's jewelry. Something tells me that won't go according to plan. And something else tells me that PlatiniumNumemon's jewelry may crop up again later. Well, guess we have to go into the sewers and drag them out before they end up as smears on the wall. Lunamon leads us to the entrance of the sewers and promises to go get Minervamon if she finds her. Before we ventured in I entered the In-Between Theater and picked up a few more Skills from the shop there that weren't in Gwappamon's shop. Okay, now we entered the sewers.

We didn't have far to go to learn that trouble is afoot. Little Bearmon informs us that the Titans are lurking around down here. Great. And Big Bearmon and Coronamon chased after them. Double great. But Little Bearmon helps show us the way. Not like it would've been too difficult to find: the sewers are basically a straight line. I also swapped out Rika for Fire Blast the Firamon because his Fire element would be better down here (we were informed by a Hagurumon that most of the enemies down in here are weak to Fire). After exploring the sewers, battling Digimon and collecting Scan Data we caught up to Coronamon and Big Bearmon. And three Titams: Ogremon, Fugamon, and Hyogamon. Time to knock them into next week!

During the battle Minervamon shows up and gives us a hand. And after a solid punch from Ogremon spawn as new move for Aegiomon. And Coronamon becomes inspired to fight back as well to boot. He's got potential, I'll say that. But soon Ogremon and his lackies have been beaten and we leave the sewers. After Minervamon scolds both Coronamon and the Bearmon Brothers (not that the latter listen to her), it's time to finally see Merukimon. Thanks to Minervamon we get past Knightmon and meet up with the towering behemoth that is Merukimon. After explaining the situation we learn that Central Tower is not working, most likely the Titan's doing. And thanks to the Bearmon Brothers Central Town is in panic mode because they had to mention the encounter with the Titan in the sewer. Great. Thanks a lot, kiddos. So we go to the tower to fix it while Merukimon calms the chaos in town.

After a quick trip back into the sewers to train a bit and Convert some more Digimon we made our way to Central Tower, fighting other Digimon in the process. Now there's some odd storm clouds surrounding the top of the tower. Most likely another Titan to deal with. After gaining access to the elevator we begin our climb up the tower. But first I decided to rearrange my team a bit to better prepare for the upcoming fights (and to increase their Bond, though I had done a great deal of that earlier using the Digifarm and DigiFeed). I boxed everyone except Aquamarine (as she's my strongest teammate atm) and swapped in some new Mons: Lillie the Togemon, Gadget the Tankmon (who was Converted and Digivolved in the early stages of the tower climb so his Level is the lowest, not that the Strategist USB isn't helping speed him up), Kyoko the Raptordramon, and Rai Rider the Sangloupmon.

Anyway, soon we reached the area where the storm clouds had gathered. Knowing that lightning is attracted to Machine/Android Digimon I made sure to equip Kyoko with a Paralysis Wall 2 so it can avoid getting Paralyzed by any stray lightning. Especially since I feel that may be extra helpful later on. Especially after seeing that ominous shadow above us and that unnerving screech. But after fighting our way to the top we picked up the last few items and prepared for battle. Because we've seen the pattern by now: a Titan will appear to try to stop us. What will this mysterious enemy be? We're about to find out.

Sorry for not updating in a few days. Migraines and bad nights have been plaguing me lately. But I finally got some more progress done and now it's time to report. Time to keep being a stranger to time itself.

Anyway, continuing from where we left off, it was time to duke it out with the Titan guarding Central Tower: Parrotmon. The bird proved to be a tricky foe thanks to its ability to heal when hit with Lightning. But that's why Kyoko was part of the group: to redirect some of that lightning away from it. Soon, after whittling it down to about 1/3rd HP Merukimon joined the fray. And his Thousand Fists pummeled the bird to oblivion. Talk about tenderizing the poultry. We then get a snippet from the radio tower about the Titans having invaded the Factorial Area but get cut off. Merukimon gives us a place to rest while he and the others try to figure out what to do next.

After a heartfelt talk with Inori the next day came. We met up with Merukimon and learned that Factorial Area is under Titan siege. So it's up to us to go there and fix things. Especially since we need the Locomon Railroad to be up and running before we can go to Junomon's Temple. So after doing some side-quests to build up my Anomaly Points and gain more Agent Skills we hitched a ride on Blimpmon to the Factorial Area. Though I first switched up my team slightly, taking out Kyoko and replacing it with Ryuki the Deltamon again.

...Only to get shot down by the enemy. Poor Blimpmon. But we managed to come out of it none worse for the wear. After meeting up with Guardromon (Gold) we have to find Kokuwamon in order to gain access to Volcanusmon's domain in order to get power back up and running. But one Kokuwamon is injured and the other is stuck behind some bulkheads that had to be closed in order to stop the spread of Titans and other problems. That must've been a hard choice for Kokuwamon. But after recharging him we entered the main section of the Factorial Area and joined forces with the second Kokuwamon. After saving all the trapped allies and defeating the baddies (and running into a certain Invader Digimon who I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of later) we make our way to Volcanusmon's domain. But the switch needed to open the bulkhead is broken. What else could go wrong?

I had to ask. ...We're attacked by an UltimateBrachiomon. One that can keep changing what types of attacks it was resistant to. But after a fierce battle we defeated it. And Aegiomon gets the idea of using UltimateBrachiomon's giant body to reach the lower area where Volcanusmon resides. We do just that. The two Kokuwamons open the gateway to Volcanusmon's room... only for him to mistaken us for Titans. Time for another battle. After duking it out with his mechanical arms we defeated him. And he gets all melodramatic over an action figure. But thankfully we finally got through to him and he realized his mistake. Most pointless boss battle ever. But now the power to Iliad is restored and we can get the Locomon Railroad back up and running. So after another talk with Inori we ride Locomon back to Central Town.

After meeting up with Merukimon and Minervamon and after doing what I could with some side-quests we went to Junomon's Temple and meet up with her. It's confirmed that Aegiomon is the Great Guardian and we get a recap of what happened that led up to Aegiomon's creation. Junomon seems a bit too focused on Aegiomon and doesn't seem to think much of Inori or me but whatever. Now we must head to Abyss Area to deal with tie Titams. But first I take the time to do some side-quests, building up my Anomaly Points and Agent Skills to the point I increased my Agent Rank to Rank 5. Now I can reach Ultimate! So after spending some time Digivolving my Digimon and rearranging their Personalities to better fit my desired paths I got some new Mons in my arsenal. After taking on the last available side-quest (helping the Bearmon Brothers get PlatinumNumemon's jewelry, I knew that'd come up again) and training/rearranging some of my Digimon it's time to head to the Abyss Area. Bikinis ahooy! Better get to it, Inori.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been going through a pretty rough time lately with seasonal depression and health issues. But I've gotten back in the game so it's time for some progress updates.

Anyway, we made our way to the Abyss Area. It looks to be intact. ...For now. But there appears to be a traitor among the residents of the village: Shellmon. We'd better check this out. But first I did a bit of shopping for skills and accessories. Might come in handy later. So after traveling to where Shellmon resides, fighting baddies and collecting treasure as we go, we find out she's hurt. So we need to hunt for ingredients for medicine. First we need Coveweed, but some mischievous Syakomon keep stealing it. But we are able to get some. But we need to find a very talkative Kamemon for the Coral Bits Shellmon needs. We found him, stuck on a ledge in the village. How'd he get up there? One DigiAttack later he crash lands... right on Nanimon. I knew we hadn't seen the last of him. One comedy routine later we got the ingredients and reported back to Shellmon. Inori is able to help us connect with Shellmon so she invites us in.

...Only to learn the rumors were true: she was housing a Titan. Divermon, to be exact. But it's clear Shellmon's kindness has deeply affected Divermon and he wants to set things right. But trouble strikes: the Titans have attacked the village! We check it out... only to find it in ruins. We make our way back to Shellmon, as this new development only further complicates things for her. But Divermon is now able to get going and we team up to stop the Titans and see if we can't find a way to sort things out peacefully. I doubt it'll work but it's worth a shot. Shellmon gives us a conch to summon her best friend but the Titans forced us to take the scenic route by blocking our path. Figures. But after getting to the spot, fighting Titans along the way, we summon Whamon who takes us to where the Titans are located. But in order to swim through the currents we need Submarimon, a friend of Divermon. So we need to go deeper. After getting ambushed by Titans we are aided by Divermon and a very battle-hungry Submarimon. But we can now travel against the current. It's time to see if we can work something out with Sharkmon.

Divermon tries to negotiate with his boss, Sharkmon, in finding a peaceful solution. Sadly, Sharkmon is not having any of it. Battle time! It's time to make shark fin soup! After a fierce, if short, battle, Sharkmon is forced to retreat. But Divermon is pretty discouraged at the outcome and is disappointed in his fellow Titans. We head back to Shellmon's place... only to find her gone. According to a note she left us the villagers left, her included, because of the Titans, to Divermon's frustration and sorrow. After sharing a heartfelt moment with the reformed Titan we head back to Junomon's Temple to report what happened. But it appears Sharkmon hasn't given up yet. The Titans are after the Current. That could be trouble.

Anyway, we make it back to Junomon's temple and relay what happened. Our next destination is the World Tree in Gear Forest, where the Current stems. But first it's time for some side-quests to build up Anomaly Points, Agent Skills, and other goodies. After taking care of all the available side-quests we head to Gear Forest. But so are the Titans. I rearranged my team a bit, swapping out Fuego for Hunter J the DarkSuperStarmon, as I need another Virus type because this area is littered with Data types.

Anyway, after helping a friendly Palmon we make our way to the village. But a Hawkmon and Floramon make our trip difficult, fearing we're Titans. Guess we have to do this the hard way. After much exploring and destroying many obstacles that Hawkmon and Floramon laid out for us we finally prove to them we're the good guys. By beating up some Titans that attacked them. Boy, Palmon's right. They really can talk their way out of any situation. But with the village in sight we enter it.

After doing some shopping we meet Bacchusmon, the leader, along with Sirenmon, his right-hand woman. Or rather his Hyper-Competent Sidekick since she tends to do most of the work while Bacchusmon is drunk to the high heavens. So we head deeper into the woods to find the World Tree's core. ...Only for a Cherrymon to trap us in some fog. One butt-whupping later we make it to the core of the World Tree. ...Only to find Titans doing something to it. Time to exterminate some bad bugs. After a long battle we managed to chase off the Titans. But it appears the World Tree has been altered. Bacchusmon appears and tells us that the Current has been altered. That can't be good. After reassessing things at the village we have to report to Junomon again. I feel like her errand boy. Though Aegiomon probably feels it even more, thanks to him being the Great Guardian. But as we're about to leave Hawkmon reports some major bad news: Junomon's temple is under attack! Oh great. From bad to worse. Time to get our rears in gear.

...But first time to take care of the last few side-quests. After all, we need those Anomaly Points and Agent Skills for the upcoming battles. After taking care of everything we make our way to Junomon's temple. Only for a swarm of insectoid Digimon, lead by a GranKuwagamon, to attack the train itself! We climb onto the roof of the train cars and smash and bash our way to GranKuwagamon, who then get smashed and bashed by Locomon. But the big bug proves to be hard to squash. ...Until Junomon intervenes from afar. After reshuffling my team a bit, putting Fire Blast in the frontline, we enter the temple. And run into three familiar faces. Ugly faces at that. Ogremon and his lookalikes want revenge on us. But we're the ones who deliver another beating. But thanks to their efforts Titamon returns with reinforcements. Junomon gives us the treasure that contains Chronomon's power and tells us to flee. But Aegiomon chooses to stay with us. Junomon... didn't take that well, causing the gate to go out of control and we not only got sucked in, but also the treasure AND the Titans. Oh, this can't be good.

After a brief conversation in the void between worlds Aegiomon finds the resolve to follow his own choice, something that, admittingly, Junomon wasn't giving him. It's clear she felt he didn't have his own will or mind and was purely duty-bound to do what he was born to do, hence why she kept giving him orders. Something tells me that'll bite us in the arse later. But we returned to the human world... with Titans in tow. Chaos has erupted. But Aegiomon finds the resolve to Digivolve into Aegiochumon because of his bond with Inori. Time to fight our way through the Titans to get help. And to recover the treasure, which has fallen near the government building. But first I was forced to replace Hunter J for Rai Rider the Astamon because Hunter J reached their level cap. I'll have to fix that later. But first we need help.

And we find our help with Dr. Simmons and the Public Safety. And a BlackGatomon that Simmons tamed. After helping Simmons get the electromagnetic net generators up and running to block as many Digimon as possible, and witnessing the birth of a beautiful friendship between Asuna and BlackGatomon, we made our way to recover the treasure. ...Only for Titamon riding another Digimon to get it. Battle time once again! After slaying his steed Titamon absorbs the power of the treasure and takes on a berserk form. The battle is tough and I have no choice but to reveal the truth about the future and the Shinjuku Inferno to Inori and Aegiochumon. But they take me being from the future surprisingly well, and they want to ensure I don't have to shoulder everything myself. Time to stop Titamon once and for all. I attempt to use the mini electromagnetic net generator Simmons gave me... but I was able to beat Titamon before I could make use of it. But after an explosion of time-space energy we find ourselves in a deserted In-Between Theater. And Aegiomon Dedigivolved back to his Champion stage to boot. What awaits us in this darkened and deserted In-Between Theater? We will find out next time.

Sorry for not updating in a while. Family drama, seasonal depression, and migraines don't make for good motivation. Anyway, time to get back into the digi-adventure!

We explore the darkened In-Between Theater. And in the VIP Room we meet three strange kids: Homeros, King Drasil, and Kunlun, who are apparently the Hosts. But after a brief chat we're thrust out of the VIP Room... and back to the era where I come from: 8 years in the future. And we see the "Wall of Hope" off in the distance. But it's clear something is off and Aegiomon is getting gawked at. Best get out of here while we can. We make it back to Inori's place... only to discover an adult Hiroko here! After a chat we learn more about what happened 8 years ago and what the "Wall of Hope" really is: an isolation zone for Digimon. And we learn that D-SAT is a new anti-Digimon force spawned from the public security service. That doesn't sound good. Looks like Aegiomon needs to don Yuu's clothes again.

But that doesn't matter the next day because D-SAT, led by Shota comes to arrest us because of Aegiomon! We're shipped off to some sort of facility. But we're saved by none other than Asuna in a rather sexy catsuit. She's clearly gone rogue if she's willing to help us. She escorts us to where a bunch of Digimon are taking refuge: Rebellion Village. Along the way we learn that Digimon are being subjected to cruel experiments by Dr. Kota. I knew I didn't like that guy and now he's a villain. But we reunite with Dr. Simmons and Merukimon... who isn't looking too good right now. Turns out the Titans have claimed several settlements in Iliad, including Central Town. We decide to try to peacefully negotiate with the Titans to see if we can create a ceasefire, though I get a call from HQ telling me that Aegiomon may need to be terminated because of his time-altering powers. But at least we have a plan. We also need to find a healer for Merukimon's ailment. So we go through the gate to Iliad that has been somehow jammed open. Something must not be good with Junomon.

We arrive in Central Town... and it IS overrun by Titans. We try to go to the tavern to talk things out peacefully with no luck. Until we run into Lanamon/Ranamon. She's a more moderate Titan and doesn't want to fight so she agrees to help us. She takes us to Abyss Area on MasterBlimpmon. Why is the water red?! Something bad must be going down there. But as it turns out it's decently peaceful in Abyss Area, though the poisonous sea seems to be having an effect on everyone. We go to see Shellmon... who is now a hot-mon in the form of Venusmon! Damn! Shellmon got a glow up! She's the healer we needed to find. Lanamon/Ranamon suggests we go to the Titan leader with a bottle of wine as a token of peace to try to negotiate a ceasefire with him. Sounds like a decent plan. But something doesn't feel right about Lanamon/Ranamon. But we don't have any other plans to work with so we might as well give it a go.

We make it down to a new section of the underwater abyss from a rather spacy Whamon. We run into Submarimon again! Great to see another friendly face. He takes us to the new Titan leader. But first we have to deal with the brute that is SkullSeadramon. Apparently SkullSeadramon has been causing all manner of problems so we need to break this bonehead! After a fierce battle we are victorious and meet with the Titan leader: Neptunemon. ...Who is the Divermon that Shellmon saved years ago! Another major glow up. And we learn that he has been trying to keep things peaceful by sending envoys but it appears SkullSeadramon has been intercepting them on someone's orders. But he accepts the token of peace happily and wants us to return the scarf Shellmon used to wrap his wound with all those years ago, complete with a message of thanks to her. But when we return to Venusmon her reaction to who Neptunemon really is... isn't what we were expecting. Something's not right. Meanwhile Neptunemon drinks the wine... and it was poisoned! Leading to his death and turning the ocean into a sea of poison and death that kills everyone! Even us! But the strange dark shadow from before appears and next thing we know we're back in the In-Between Theater, alive.

We witness the power that Aegiomon has: the Akashic Vision, and learn of the truth regarding the events. And thanks to those powers we're sent back just far enough to to try to stop the plan from going through. Apparently Venusmon did know about the poison in the wine, but she said it was a sedative. Seemed a bit too potent for a sedative. But we learn that Lanamon/Ranamon tricked us: she's a master poison maker and the poison is, in fact, highly lethal. And she's responsible for both the reddening of the sea AND SkullSeadramon. All so she could assassinate Neptunemon. And the icing on the cake is that she's also responsible for Kuremi's "retirement" and the creation of D-SAT. One fight later we're able to drive her off for now. We need to stop Neptunemon from drinking the wine. After a quick trip via Whamon we reach Neptunemon. And not a moment too soon as he was just about to drink the wine. Venusmon and Neptunemon start to have a moment, only for it to be ruined by Lanamon/Ranamon, who Digivoles into Calmaramon to fight us one more time. We're victorious yet again. Venusmon struggles to accept that Calmaramon wasn't being sincere when she healed her. While Calmaramon was lying in some form or another, she was also sincere regarding how she felt about Venusmon before dying. Venusmon and Neptunemon have their moment and it's clear the two of them have a thing for each other. Aww, just kiss already.

Back in the In-Between Theater we see another Akashic Vision showcasing the changed events, with the statues of Venusmon and Neptunemon appearing on the "clock tower"? Doesn't look like a clock tower to me. Whatever, now we have two powerful allies. And Aegiomon gets a new form for his Ultimate form. But now we need to take Venusmon to Merukimon to treat his injury. And we find out that he's been poisoned as well. What is it with the Titans using poison? I guess it's fitting. But we need to go to Gear Forest to find a certain fruit to treat the poison. So off we go on MasterBlimpmon to Gear Forest.

...Only to find the forest dead. We run into some Titans along the way, but reunite with Hawkmon, now a Gryphonmon, and we learn that the Titans are attacking the village! Gotta go fast! We arrive at the village... only to find it deserted. After an unnecessary fight with Cherrymon (who hurt himself more than he hurt us), we find Bacchusmon... and graves?! Turns out the Titans eradicated the entire village, Sirenmon included. Bacchusmon is so depressed he even takes a bottle of poison to his own lips just to end his suffering! Not more poison! But as Bacchusmon dies the dark Shadow appears. And we're back in the In-Between Theater for another Akashic Vision. We get sent back in time again, just far enough that we have a chance to change things. This time we run into Lotusmon, who is Floramon from years back. We rush to the village again to hopefully save it. But everyone falls asleep, us included. We enter a dream world and find the culprit: Witchmon. Turns out she's holding quite the grudge against us for what happened to Titamon years ago. And she clearly doesn't view Aegiomon very positively. Something tells me that Chronomon isn't as noble as everyone made him out to be. But a battle begins! And after a struggle we are victorious! But Witchmon's parting words haunt us.

After returning to the real world we head for the sanctuary to check on Sirenmon. ...Who is fighting, and losing, to TyrantKabuterimon! But our interference prevents TyrantKabuterimon from causing any more harm. During the fight both Bacchusmon and Sirenmon have a very heartfelt chat, and Bacchusmon even goes into his super mode to further tip the scales in our favor. We are victorious... but Sirenmon fades away, leaving behind a sprout. But thanks to our efforts we were able to save the village and everyone else, even if it came at a cost of Sirenmon. Hopefully she'll return to us. We witness another Akashic Vision, showing how our efforts are changing fate, gaining Bacchusmon as another ally and Aegiomon gaining another new Ultimate form. After Bacchusmon gives us one hell of a party we tell him what we need. He knows that fruit is rare but he'll keep an eye out for them and inform us if he finds any. So I guess the only thing we can do is report back.

After reporting back we learn that the Factorial Area has undergone a very drastic change: it's now a Kokuwamon theme park, stating the heroics of Kokuwamon during the first Titan invasion. Hey! We were part of that fight, too, ya know! Where's our statues and recognition?! Anyway, we're here to see if we can find out more. And we learn that Big Bearmon has joined the Titans?! What?! Big Bearmon hates the Titans! Why would he make a deal with them and join them?! But maybe we can find Little Bearmon and help find out what happened. So we learn from Chuumon back in Rebellion Village that Little Bearmon is in an underground fighting arena in Shinjuku. How'd a place like that get established with D-SAT running around? Well, no matter. We need to find Little Bearmon. But before we do I decided to switch up my team with new Mons to mix things up and try different team compositions. Can't keep relying on the same team over and over again, as we might run into a problem that those members can't solve. But now it's time to find Little Bearmon. But first I explored the sewers in Central Town to grinding for Yen, EXP, and Scan Data. Okay, now we can go.

Time for the next part of my digi-adventure through time!

Anyway, we take Pegasusmon to the arena where Little Bearmon is said to reside. Or rather GrapLeomon now. In order to earn an "audience" with GrapLeomon we need to climb the ranks of the arena and fight him. And that we did. After beating GrapLeomon and telling him about Big Bearmon, now Callismon, GrapLeomon... doesn't take the news too well. But he agrees to work together in order to find out why Big Bearmon sold his soul to the Titans he hated so much. But we get a call from Hiroko to meet us in Vision Square. Turns out in her attempt to find us she succeeded in her dreams: making anime. And she based the MC off of me! But good for Hiroko for achieving her dream. Now it's time to meet up with GrapLeomon and find out what's going on with Callismon.

...Only to find out he's gone on ahead, saying this is "between brothers". That can't be good. And we were right, as Callismon ragdolled GrapLeomon when he tried to reason with him, resulting in his death. But as Aegiomon cries out to try to fix things the black shadow appears again. Back to the In-Between Theater for another Akashic Vision, telling that GrapLeomon has the potential to be someone great and vital to Iliad's survival. After some more time-traveling we reunite with GrapLeomon back at the arena previous. Inori is able to talk some sense into GrapLeomon, using her own brother's death as a means of convincing him to work together. And it works. So off to the arena in Factoral Area.

We fight our way to the top and battle Callismon. During the battle we're able to glean the truth regarding Callismon's actions: he allowed himself to become part of the Titans, even getting modified, just to protect GrapLeomon. After a peptalk from our team GrapLeomon summons his strength... and Digivolves into Marsmon! With Marsmon's newfound strength we are able to defeat Callismon. The brothers have a very heartfelt moment with Callismon telling Marsmon to not let any other Digimon befall his fate and he's counting on him to protect Iliad. Words that Marsmon takes to heart. After another Akashic Vision we get another addition to the clock tower. Slowly the pieces are coming together.

After that we head back to Rebellion Village... only to find it in an uproar. Looks like the battle to reclaim Central Town is about to start. But Merukimon is still in terrible shape but he's willing to fight. He informs us that the humans are about to mobilize a weapon so we need to deal with that. We find our way back to the lab and see the special weapon we passed before when Asuna rescued us. ...And we run into Inori's dad! He helped create this monstrosity because he blames the Digimon for everything. It makes me wonder. If this conflict was caused by humans, resulting in the death of his family, would he also be willing to build a weapon for mass genocide? Something tells me he's just taking advantage of the fact that Digimon are "monsters" so he can act almost racist toward them. But the weapon is deployed and our group is scattered. In the process a Chuumon tells me that Merukimon died in battle and now things have gotten even worse. During an attempt to stop it the fist from before appears and triggers another Shinjuku Inferno! And in the process Inori is lost to a space-time distortion and Aegiomon goes completely ballistic and disappears.

I reappear in the In-Between Theater and watch another Akashic Vision, followed by another incident of time travel back to just before Merukimon charges into battle with the Titans to free Central Town. I was able to convince him to that the operation will fail, he will die, and mass destruction will occur. Doing so allows me to stall him just long enough for Venusmon to find the needed ingredient for her antidote to cure Merukimon's poison, restoring him to full strength. Now we're talkin'! So it's time to take back Central Town and hopefully delay the crisis, and the destruction that will follow, to give us more time to plan.

The battle for Central Town is brutal, culminating in a fight between us and a VenomMyotismon summoned by some strange black Digimon (I know what it is, I'm just going with the plot). But we are victorious and Central Town has been reclaimed and the Titans driven out. Within a short time Central Town is back to it's former glory and the residents of Rebellion Village return to their domain. I have a meeting with Merukimon about talking to Plutomon to negotiate with the leader of the Titans now that we've driven out their forces. Hopefully this'll work. Off to the Dark Area.

In the Dark Area I encounter a Gekomon who can "leap" us from place to place... by hearing cringe-worthy statements. Hoo-boy. Well, good thing I'm so full of them. After some trial-and-error we make it to Plutomon's domain. ...Only to find out he's been turning into a living corpse: ZombiePlutomon! What could've cause this? But we have to fight him in order to potentially save him. After a very close call with his deadliest attack we are able to win. But Plutomon seems to die as a result. But the black shadow appears and takes me back to the In-Between Theater for another Akashic Vision. After that I get sent back in time again, this time just before a certain event. After (re)uniting with Gekomon we make our way to Plutomon. And this time we're able to stop the mysterious dark Digimon from turning him into a living corpse and chase him away. And we learn that Plutomon was a puppet to none other than Chronomon. Looks like the "hero" was really a zero. And we learn the truth behind what happened: Chronomon tried to stand up to the higher being in an act of defiance against fate but was turned into a "cog" in the Akashic Records, while the Titans, who were really Iliad's warriors, were labeled as traitors and banished to the depths of the Digital World. So he birthed an egg that is now Aegiomon and wants him to replace him as said "cog" so he can finally be free from his existence and from the higher being's control.

I report back to Merukimon and he has Venusmon save Plutomon's life. Now, thanks to Plutomon, we know the truth, as hard as it is to believe. But we now know that Chronomon is the real villain of this story, and that all the death, destruction, and chaos is his doing in an act of defiance against fate. But thanks to our efforts we're able to keep the Shinjuku Inferno from happening. ...For now, anyway, but there's still trouble to deal with, as Chronomon will most assuredly go after the human world to trigger something that he needs there. So it's back to Rebellon Village to talk to Dr. Simmons. But thanks to the Anomaly Points I gained from both the side-quests and saving Plutomon I now reached Rank 7! Huzzah! Now I can go Mega!

So, that's what I did. I Digivolved every Digimon I could to their Mega form (except a couple because I don't meet the Agent Rank requirements yet). And, in the process, I start exploiting the DNA Digivolution trick to spawn multiple fodder Digimon. As a result I created an army of Ankylomons from a Golddramon and an army of Magnamons from a GranKuwagamon that I, fittingly, named Waspinator (after all, who better to create/donate "spare parts" than Waspinator, right?). As a result my team got revamped big time. And I also spent an entire RW day grinding up my Digimon's stats to a certain point, followed by grinding for Yen in the DLC Outer Dungeons, rinse and repeat. I also took the time to start filling out some spaces in my Field Guide thanks to some of the spare fodder Digimon I spawned without needing to use any saved Scan Data, along with setting up some future DNA Digivolutions. Again, Waspinator proved very useful in providing me with several Digimon (mostly Tsunomons) that I could use to start filling out blanks and setting up future paths/Digivolutions. As such I not only filled in several entries in my Field Guide, but now have a bunch of fodder Digimon to feed to my actual fighters in order to turn them into horrifying embodiments of compounding interest. Now that that's been taken care of I can move on and talk to Dr. Simmons.

Time to continue mucking around with time and causing all sorts of mayhem to humans and Digimon alike!

After doing all my nonsense I met up with Dr. Simmons to learn the next mission. It's time to infiltrate the lab where the likes of Kuga are conducting experiments on Digimon for their weapon. And as we do we learn that Digimon like Datamon and Ebemon are being used for security. But at least I get to see BeelStarmon in action. So while I run around, dealing with the security and finding any clues, Dr. Simmons tries to create a special fake ID to get into the deepest chambers... where Volcanusmon is being held. After much fighting and running around we succeed and she gives me the ID. She knows the right guy for the job. But we learn we're too late to save Volcanusmon, who's very core was ripped out and put into the Giant Slayer, ending his life. Poor Volcanusmon. And Dr. Simmons severely beats herself up for what happened. She's a good person. But then, the dark shadow appears! I get another Akashic Vision moment, but this time no instant time travel. Instead we exit the location and I have to try to stop the Giant Slayer. Riding on Pegasusmon I make it to the Government Building... and meet the dark shadow again. Who is really a time-traveling Aegiomon! Turns out he's been constantly traveling through time, creating endless loops, just to save Inori. And Chronomon has been sowing the seeds of growth in the process. But before Aegiomon can say something important I end up back at the In-Between Theater.

After exiting the In-Between Theater I find myself standing before the Giant Slayer, which is currently deactivated. Looks like I did travel through time. So time to nip the situation in the bud. Thanks to the ID I still have I'm able to rescue Volcanusmon... who mistakes me of Aegiomon? That's odd. But we also run into Kuga, who is not happy that I came on Simmons' behalf to stop his experiments, going crazy and disappearing. We make our escape... and run into Kuga again, this time in a mech suit. After blasting the mech to smoldering wreckage Kuga seems to escape, showing just how obsessed he is in beating Simmons. We reunite with Simmons and Asuna and the former offers a very heartfelt apology to Volcanusmon. He's willing to forgive them on one condition... he wants more action figures. I don't think the good doctor saw that one coming. Hey, if those are his conditions for forgiveness I'll gladly take it. At least it's in-character with him. One more Akashic Vision later and we get another apostle added to the clock tower. Looks like the pieces are starting to fall into place.

I meet up with Simmons and Asuna again and learn that the latter captured Kuga. Turns out he didn't quite get away after all. And we learn that Dianamon, formerly known as Lunamon, has been sending Digimon to the humans... turning them into lab rats. Why? Why would Dianamon do that? So our next mission is to head for the Cosmic Area via MasterBlimpmon to find out what's going on. But first a small detour to take care of some unfinished business. Okay, with that done it was time to head for the Cosmic Area.

I arrived there and nearly cause a fight with the Wizardmon and Sorcermon there, but a Pumpkinmon defuses the tension and agrees to help us speak to both Dianamon and Apollomon, formerly Coronamon. But the two are feuding like kid. Some things never change, huh? So we go to the Heat Zone first to meet up with Apollomon. We collect a Heat Seed which will most assuredly come in handy. But a massive wall of fire blocks our path. So we have to try finding a Chill Seed to douse those flames. So off to the Chill Zone. My kind of zone. Using that Heat Seed we're able to melt the ice and get several things running before obtaining the Chill Seed. Okay, time to backtrack and get to Apollomon.

After braving the heat and Digimon that are attacking us we make it to Apollomon's throne. He's not happy to have "visitors" who want him to reconcile with Dianamon. The battle begins! We're able to emerge victorious and smacked some sense into Apollomon. Which includes allowing him to remember who we are. Still, he's not happy to learn that the rumors he's heard about Dianamon selling out her own kind is true, so he decides to confront her. Rather violently, I might add. After chasing after him we reunite with Dianamon, resulting in yet another fight. But I rearranged my team to deal with her better. After winning the scuffle both Apollomon and Dianamon reconcile and learn the truth regarding the situation: Junomon is responsible for the sending of Digimon to the humans. Dianamon... I hate to say it, but you're a bit too blindly obedient to figures of authority. So our next stop is Junomon's Temple.

One flight later we arrive at the darkened temple. That can't be good. So we confront Junomon... who is in her Hysteric Mode! Oh, that's not good. And it gets even worse. We learn that Pumpkinmon is responsible for sowing chaos and discord between Apollomon and Dianamon and we end up locked up. Though in the process I witness another Akashic Vision. Pumpkinmon taunts us from our cell... only to get blasted by karma by none other than the Titans! Looks like a team-up is in order so we can free the likes of Minervamon and stop the rather overzealous ClavisAngemon so we can confront Junomon. But first I switch up my team a bit, taking out Bloodfang and Tigatron, replacing them with Ryu the UlforceVeedramon X and Manny the SkullMammothmon. Gotta try some different ideas and Mons, right? One elaborate chase and exploration of the temple later we're able to beat ClavisAngemon by tricking him into one of the cells that depowers him and freed Minervamon and some other individuals. I'm certain they'll come in handy later, right?

Minervamon joins our team to help confront Junomon while the Titans escape and Apollomon and Dianamon go to get ready for the big final battle. We make our way back to the throne room and see that Junomon is clearly not in her right mind. So it's time to smack some sense back into her. After a tough fight we're able to return Junomon to her senses and learn that she had become a tragic puppet to Chronomon because of her rather unhealthy obsession with Aegiomon. But she's been freed from Chronomon's control and we're able to restore things to normal. After another Akashic Vision we add a whopping four new members to the clock tower, leaving only two left. Talk about making a lot of progress in one swoop. And I'm tasked by Mirei to bring Aegiomon back from the darkness that consumes him. After all that I have a chat with Junomon and Dr. Simmons... and learn some dark truths about myself. My adoptive father, Dr. Yuki, was an anime character, and that I'm part of Aegiomon. My entire existence is a lie. That... hits disturbingly close to home in RL for me. But, anyway, Junomon opens up a gate to send me to where the Giant Slayer is being deployed. It's time to confront it once and for all.

Time to keep going. Chronomon awaits and time waits for no Mon!

After getting over the shock of knowing my existence is a lie I enter a portal Junomon created to get to Chronomon. In between worlds I hear Aegiomon crying out in despair for his failures to save Inori and sinking into the darkness. After coming to my senses the Giant Slayer nearly crushes me, only for me to be rescued by a Birddramon. Nice catch there. I enter a void where I reunite with the Operator and she reveals the truth of my existence: I'm one of the dark shadows that Aegiomon left throughout the various timelines remolded by Homeostasis into my current form. And everything about me was taken from the memories of Inori's younger brother, hence my status as an ADAMAS Agent and all that jazz. In the void I meet up with Aegiomon and help him come to terms with the situation. He realizes now he needs to move forward and stop repeating time, something that Chronomon has been taking advantage of to cultivate Aegiomon into a replacement gear for him. After the peptalk Aegiomon and I fuse (Bio-Merge, maybe?) into Jupitermon. And in the process Sirenmon revives, now as Cersemon. Which means the final members of the apostles has been gathered. After Jupitermon meets up with the other Olympus XII it's time to stop the Giant Slayer.

After an epic clash and witnessing Apollomon and Dianamon DNA Digivolve into GraceNovamon we're able to trap the Giant Slayer in a special dimension created by the "siblings". After a brutal battle the clashing of two beings that can control time causes several space-time distortions. And in the process we're able to recover Inori. But thanks to that clash we've created a warped space that seems to be a scrambled fusion of both worlds. After confronting the dark Digimon that acts as Chronomon's avatar it fuses with the Giant Slayer and Chronomon DM has been released. But because of the nature of the Akashic Records we're considered intruders and enemies, so we will be attacked by copies created by the Akashic Records, despite what Chronomon wants. After reuniting with both Shota, who seems to have finally realized the truth, and a very familiar Biyomon, we venture deeper into the Akashic Records. Before we're able to meet Plutomon we're summoend by the Hosts and Mirei, who give us the ability to travel to various points in history to tie up loose ends. That means it's time for a side-quest-a-thon! I'm sure Chronomon can wait a few more hours, right?

Anyway, I started doing various side-quests, raising my Agent Rank up to Rank 9 and, in turn, Digivolved several Digimon that I couldn't before into their Mega+/Ultra forms (ie: Mervamon, Omnimon, etc), thus increasing my firepower for the big battles ahead, along with nearly maxing out all my Agent Skills (at least the ones involving the four "crests", anyway). I also rearranged my team a bit, incorporating new Digimon into my ranks so I can adapt to what was to come. As a result my team should be ready for the final battles. After doing all that I could I progressed with the story.

I met up with Plutomon who asked me to buy him time while he prepares to wipe out some of the defenses the Akashic Records produced. Including a Demon Lord: Barbamon! I team up with the Gekomon who doesn't like platitudes and the trio of Ogremon, Fugamon, and Hyogamon to take down the first big defense. After hastily dodging Plutomon's final attack we make or way to the next section. Where Marsmon is fighting against Creepymon and its army. Another Demon Lord? Anyway, we're joined by the (mostly) cured Callismon to take down Creepymon and its army. Callismon is willing to give up his life as penitence for his crimes in the arena, but Marsmon won't have any of it. The brothers fight side-by-side while I progress further thanks to Pegasusmon.

I arrive at the next spot, where Bacchusmon and his followers are. Looks like we need to feed Bacchusmon to build up his strength in order to break one of Chronomon's wings that is blocking our path. So we need to collect fruit for him to eat. Very big fruit, I might add. But it's clear it won't be that easy. Luckily, Rosemon comes to our aid and helps us reach the various fruits we need to collect. But when we collect some of the fruit we run into trouble with various Cerberusmons, Waspmons, and CannonBeemons. By the time we get the last fruit we're confronted by yet another Demon Lord: Lillithmon. But Rosemon, Lotusmon, and Gryphonmon join the fight to stop Lillithmon and her croonies. After a fierce battle we're able to defeat Lillithmon and feed Bacchusmon, giving him the strength needed to bust down Chronomon's wing. ...And, in the process, he gets hungry again. At least Gryphonmon and the others will take care of things here while we ride on (or rather in) Whamon to reach Neptunemon. But before we do we are contacted by Dr. Simmons, who tells us that several areas in the real world have been consumed by space-time rifts, which we realize are fusing with the Digital World and creating this distorted space. We don't have a lot of time left so it's time to ride Whamon to our next location.

Time for a sad (and stupid) update. While playing one of my other, older files this morning so I could better prepare myself for this playthrough I did something incredibly stupid. In my haste in saving the other file I accidentally overwrote this file! :lapras::bulbaFacepalm: And I was just before the final boss to boot! Damn, I'm so mad at myself as this was easily my most successful playthrough to date. That's what I get for playing not long after waking up. So, sadly, this playthrough has been canceled because of a blunder. I'm pretty upset about it. So this playthrough has come to an abrupt, and undeserved end. Sorry everyone. Maybe another time I'll do a new playthrough from scratch and report it again. But hopefully you all enjoyed what I posted before. Sorry for the unfortunate ending but that's what happens when you're hasty in saving a game file. Let this be a cautionary tale for all of you in regards to saving your games. Farewell and thanks for viewing.
