Water Festival: Beach Week to run from June 6th to June 12th in Pokémon GO

Niantic has announced details for Water Festival: Beach Week, a Pokémon GO event that will be held from June 6th at 10:00am, to June 12th at 8:00pm local time. This event will feature the Pokémon GO debut of Sandygast, the Sand Heap Pokémon, and Palossand, the Sand Castle Pokémon. 50 Sandygast Candy will be required to evolve Sandygast into Palossand.

Event bonus
A 4× Rainy Lure duration event bonus will be active throughout the event.

Field Research task rewards
Trainers can earn Mega Energy for the following Pokémon when certain Field Research tasks are completed:

• Blastoise
• Swampert

Timed Research
Trainers can purchase event-exclusive Timed Research for US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency) from June 6th at 10:00am, to June 11th at 8:00pm local time. When these tasks are completed, Trainers will earn a surfer avatar pose and have encounters with event-themed Pokémon. The Timed Research tasks must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before June 12th at 8:00 p.m. local time. Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with.

Global Challenge
A Global Challenge will take place throughout the event, where Trainers around the world can work together to throw 300 million Nice Throws to unlock the following bonuses for all Trainers to enjoy for the remainder of the event:

• Increased Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
• Increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
