In a surprise announcement as part of the Pokémon Presents video presentation for Pokémon Day, The Pokémon Company in partnership with Netflix and the animation team at dwarf studios have announced Pokémon Concierge, a new stop-motion animation series. At this stage, no date as yet been given for when we can expect this series to be released, though promotional material states that the series is "coming soon".

Pokémon Concierge follows Haru, a concierge at the ‘Pokémon Resort,’ and her interactions with the various Pokémon and their owners who visit the resort as guests together with Psyduck. The series will give fans a glimpse of the Pokémon world that we don't normally see, going beyond the franchise's normal focus on Pokémon training and battling.

Minyoung Kim - Vice President of Netflix Content in Asia said:
“Netflix is looking forward to delighting fans in Japan and around the world with ‘Pokémon Concierge,’ an entirely new visual and storytelling experience featuring ground-breaking stop-motion animation set in the Pokémon world in close collaboration with The Pokémon Company. We’re also excited to reveal this new series on Pokémon Day and provide fans with even more things to look forward to on this special holiday celebrating the popular franchise.”

dwarf studios was founded by Tsuneo Goda, the creator of NHK's classic Domo-kun mascot character, in 2003. The studio is perhaps best known for their stop-motion animation work on the Domo-kun franchise, and for the Rilakkuma and Kaoru series of shorts which are available worldwide on Netflix.
