Pokémon GO Tour Hoenn heads to Sunset Park in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 18th and 19th - Global event to follow February 25th and 26th

Niantic has announced preliminary details regarding Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn, which will be running in February 2023. The live event of the tour will be held at Sunset Park in Nevada, Las Vegas on February 18th and 19th, from 10am to 6pm (PST). This will then be followed by a global event which will be held on February 25th and 26th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. As its name suggests, this event will focus on Pokémon from the Hoenn region from Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon will make their Pokémon GO debut as part of this event, alonside their Shiny variants. Shiny variants of Unown H, Surskit, Gulpin, Torkoal, Cacnea, Tropius, Relicanth and Jirachi will also be making their Pokémon GO debuts during this event.

Las Vegas Live Event Details
For the live event at Sunset Park, tickets will be available at a discounted rate of USD$25 until December 31th, with the price going up to USD$30 after January 1st. Additional add-ons are also available for purchase with extra bonuses.

  • Increased chance of 10 km Eggs from spinning PokéStops and Photo Discs at Gyms
*1/4 Egg Hatch Distance does not stack with other similar bonuses

Tickets can also be gifted to someone else they are at least Great Friends with in Pokémon GO. All tickets purchased together in a single order will be for the same date and time.

All Trainers will be able to pick between a Ruby and Sapphire badge. The team picked by each Trainer will shape certain in-person Pokémon encounters. The badge Trainers pick at Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas will carry over to the global event the following weekend.

All attendees will have the opportunity to meet notable Trainers from the community at this event. More info on these special guests will be announced at a later date. Trainers can also encounter the Eon Pokémon Latias and Latios by taking snapshots in-game during the event.

Ticket-holders (February 10th-17th)

Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas Countdown
Trainers who purchase a ticket before February 10th, 2023 will unlock exclusive Timed Research to help them get ready for Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas.

Ticket-holders at Sunset Park (February 18-19)
Once Trainers pick a team—either Ruby or Sapphire—they will remain on that team for both days of the event.

The following bonuses will be active for ticket holders during the event period:
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon
  • Up to six Special Trades can be made within the park
  • 50% Stardust cost for Trades made within the park
  • 1/2 Hatch Distance
  • Up to nine additional free Raid Passes from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
  • Incense will give a boosted chance of encountering costumed Pokémon and Unown
Each ticket is normally only valid for a single day of gameplay. Trainers can however purchase an additional add-on for the other day at a price of $25 USD, which also comes with the following additional bonuses.
  • Up to six Special Trades daily within the park (for a total of twelve over the whole weekend)
  • Up to nine daily Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms (for a total of eighteen over the whole weekend)
  • Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently in balloons
  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for 90 minutes
  • Increased chances of obtaining Spooky Scramble and Energy Boost Field Research tasks
  • Access to the Timed Research: GO for a Spin twice - once per day

Special, Field, and Masterwork Research tasks
Special Research: Teaming up with...Team GO Rocket?!
A Special Research story will be available only to ticket-holding Trainers at Sunset Park. In this Special Research, Trainers will be able to take part in an exclusive adventure working alongside the Team GO Rocket Leaders for the very first time.

Special Research: Chasing Legends
Another Special Research story will be available featuring none other than Rhi from the GO Ultra Recon Squad. Professor Willow has tasked Rhi with researching Hoenn folklore about the Red and Blue Orbs - items which are said to have some connection to Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon.

Timed Research: GO for a Spin
By spinning PokéStops, Trainers can receive Timed Research tasks that rewards with encounters with Spinda, the Spot Panda Pokémon.

Unique Field Research tasks
Trainers will be able to collect Mega Energy and catch Ghost-type Pokémon by completing new Field Research tasks. Trainers with a ticket will have a boosted chance of receiving this research.

Primal Surge Field Research

Trainers will experience the power of Primal Reversion for the first time in Pokémon GO, with Groudon and Kyogre bringing the might of the earth and the sea with them. Ticket-holding Trainers in Las Vegas will have additional opportunities to complete Primal Surge Field Research leading to encounters with Primal Groudon or Primal Kyogre.

Masterwork Research: Wish Granted
Ticket-holding Trainers in Las Vegas will be able to access the Masterwork Research with fewer steps leading to an encounter with Shiny Jirachi. Attendees with the shorter Masterwork Research will not be able to purchase the longer global Masterwork Research.

Global Event Details

Pokémon
Trainers participating in the global event will encounter the same Pokémon in the wild and in raids, and hatch the same Pokémon from Eggs, as in the event in Las Vegas.

In addition, additional One-Star Raids will also be available which feature the following Pokémon:

  • Mudkip ⁂
As with the Las Vegas event, all Trainers will also be able to pick between a Ruby and Sapphire badge, with the team picked shaping certain aspects of the event. Trainers who completed the Las Vegas event will continue with the badge they had previously selected.

Special, Field, and Masterwork Research tasks
The majority of research tasks included in the Las Vegas event will be available for Trainers worldwide during the global event. This includes the Special Research story Chasing Legends, the Primal Surge Field Research, and the Wish Granted Masterwork Research, but does not include the GO for a Spin Timed Research.
