In a shocking announcement, the team at Original Stitch, have announced that their company will be closing its doors permanently, with final orders closing online on June 11th, at 7pm (PST). This closure impacts all of the company's brands, including the popular Pokémon Shirts.

The second Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Scarlet & Violet series, Obsidian Flames, has been officially announced by The Pokémon Company International. This expansion will be the international equivalent of the Ruler of the Black Flame expansion releasing in Japan later this year, including cards from that set, the ex Special Set, and the ex Start Decks.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet today have received an update to Version 1.3.1. First announced on the Japanese official Pokémon Twitter account @Pokemon_cojp, and with an English announcement on the @playpokemon 15 minutes later, this update fixes multiple issues that were impacting players in invite-only official tournaments, including the Japanese and Korean National Championship Qualifiers, to repeatedly face the same opponents, have difficulties in exiting between battles, and be unable to view rankings.

Niantic has announced the Rising Shadows event for Pokémon GO which will launch a new feature called Shadow Raids when it will run from 10am on Monday 22 May to 8pm on Sunday 28 May local time. Team GO Rocket will be taking over Gyms during this event although some Gyms not controlled by Team GO Rocket may still contain different Raids which aren't Shadow Raids. Players will not be able to use Remote Raid Passes on Shadow Raids and there will not be a team bonus adding more Premier Balls from the colour of the Gym because it should become black just like Team GO Rocket controlled PokéStops. Shadow Mewtwo will be in 5* Shadow Raids from 10am on Saturday 27 May to 8pm on Sunday 28 May local time and a Shiny Shadow Mewtwo will be available from finishing the Shadow Raid if you are lucky. The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo have announced that Pokémon HOME will receive an update to version 3.0.0 on May 23rd. This update will allow Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, released in November last year, recently released Pokémon titles, to be mutually compatible to past games including Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, and Pokémon GO.

Pokémon Masters EX is throwing down the gauntlet to trainers once more, with the Legendary Gauntlet returning until June 6th, alongside new 5★ Poké Fair and Select Scouts focused on Sync Pairs with Bug-, Water-, and Fire-type Pokémon, as well as the regular return of the Blissful Bonanza Daily Battle event.

The version-exclusive Paradox Pokémon, Great Tusk and Iron Treads will be making their first appearance in a 5-star Tera Raid Battle event in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, with the event running in game from May 19th at midnight (UTC), through until May 21st at 11:59pm (UTC). Great Tusk will appear exclusively for players with Pokémon Scarlet, while Iron Treads will be appearing exclusively in Pokémon Violet. Great Tusk and Iron Treads will both be able to be encountered in a wide array if Tera Types, potentially rare Tera Types for both species.

The Pokémon Company International has announced that new episodes of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, the 25th season of the long-running Pokémon animated series, will premiere exclusively on Netflix in the United States on June 23rd. This batch of episodes will finally bring the close of Ash and Pikachu's journey to English-speaking audiences, with the final battles of the World Coronation Series against the strongest trainers from around all of the regions Ash has travelled through.

The next past generation starter evolution to make its Paldea debut in special Tera Raids will be the Spiny Armor Pokémon Chesnaught, who will be making its first appearance in 7-star Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles between May 12th at 00:00 (UTC), and May 14th at 23:59 (UTC), with a follow-up appearance one week later from May 19th at 00:00 (UTC), to May 21st at 23:59 (UTC).
