As part of Nintendo's presentation today of its Second Quarter Financial Results and Corporate Management Policy Briefing, Shuntaro Furukawa, the current President of Nintendo, confirmed that the Nintendo Switch successor will feature backwards compatibility with Nintendo Switch software. Nintendo Switch Online will also remain available on the new console.

Having only just launched worldwide last week, Pokémon TCG Pocket is already running its second in-game event. The Lapras ex Drop Event will run through to November 17th, at 9:59pm (PST), and offers players the opportunity to acquire a selection of promo cards from the Promo-A promotional set.

Pokémon Masters EX continues its focus on the fan favourite brothers of the Battle Subway with a re-run of 2021's All Aboard the Victory Train Story Event. Also launching alongside this event is a new Double Feature Poké Fair Scout featuring Ingo & Excadrill and Emmet & Archeops, who both made their debut together with the original run of the event. Both the event and scout will be available until November 21st, at 9:59pm (PST).

Having only just launched worldwide earlier this week, Pokémon TCG Pocket is already running its first in-game event. Wonder Pick Event Part 1 brings Chansey and Meowth promo cards to the game's Wonder Pick feature, along with a selection of limited time event items to the in-game shop, including a pair of backgrounds, and a binder cover. This event will run through to November 14th, at 9:59pm (PST).

The next Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Scarlet & Violet Series, Prismatic Evolutions, has been officially announced in a press release by The Pokémon Company International. This expansion, which launches internationally on January 17th, 2025, is expected to primarily contain cards from the Japanese Terastal Fest ex subset, which launches there on December 6th, along with an assortment of Japanese promotional cards that have yet to have international release.

Pokémon Sleep's next Good Sleep Day event will run from Friday November 15th through to Sunday November 17th. Good Sleep Day events are being held in Pokémon Sleep once every lunar month, starting the day before the full moon, and ending the day after. As usual, a Good Sleep Day Bundle will be available from the in-game shop alongside this event.

Pokémon Masters EX today starts to move on from all of the recent Halloween festivities, with the launch of a brand new Extreme Battle event, Pasio Subway, featuring Ingo and Emmet with their new and improved minecart battle facility in Pasio. Meanwhile, Steven & Metagross feature in the game's latest Monthly Poké Fair Scout.

Today's update on the Pokémon Trading Card Game's official Japanese homepage has revealed a range of new and reprinted cards from the upcoming Terastal Fest ex subset, including new Pokémon ex cards for Vaporeon, Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon, an Amarys Supporter card, and the Max Rod ACE SPEC item card. The set is scheduled to release in Japan on December 6th.

Ingo is debuting his new Sygna Suit Sync Pair with Chandelure today in Pokémon Masters EX debut in a new Poké Fair Scout. Alongside this scout, Ingo and Emmet take different tracks in a brand new Story Event, Sygna Siblings—All Aboard. Also launching today are a set of Custom Move Candy! Tiered Scouts to mark the addition of the new Superawakening feature.

Continuing the company's recent trend of shadowdrops out of nowhere, Nintendo today has announced and released their new Nintendo Music app for smart devices, exclusively for active Nintendo Switch Online members.

The seventh episode of the second season of the POKÉTOON series has been released on the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel. The episode is titled 「Romanticスパイス カプサイジ伝説」 ("Romantic Spice - Capsakid Legend"), and features a girl going on adventures with her Capsakid, with the video being styled in the manner of a movie trailer for a Shōjo anime.

First announced during Pokémon Presents on Pokémon Day this year, the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket app is now available for download worldwide on both the App Store for iOS and iPadOS, and Google Play for Android. Full coverage of the game's contents can be found on Bulbapedia.

A special trailer posted to Pokémon Masters EX's official social media accounts today has revealed that Ingo and Emmet, the leaders of the Battle Subway in Black, White, Black 2, and White 2, will each be debuting new Sygna Suit Sync Pairs later this week, alongside a new Story Event featuring both characters that begins just before Halloween. Special Spooktacular Travellers Sweepstakes have also been launched on the official English and Japanese language accounts on X.

In celebration of the debut of Mimikyu in Pokémon Sleep in the Halloween event that launched in-game today, and in commemoration of the special A Mimikyu Bedtime Story that was posted earlier this week by The Official Pokémon YouTube channel, a special gift of a Mimikyu Incense is now being distributed to all Sleep Researchers. This gift can be redeemed by anyone who logs in to the game before November 4th, at 2:59pm (UTC).

The next Online Competition for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet has been announced. Registration for the Team Star Challenge will open on October 28th at Midnight (UTC) / October 27th at 5:00pm (PDT), with the competition itself scheduled to run from November 8th at Midnight (UTC) / November 7th at 4:00pm (PST), running through on November 10th, at 11:59pm (UTC) / 3:59pm (PST).

The next past generation first partner evolution to appear in special Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will be the Big Jaw Pokémon Feraligatr, which will be making its first appearance in 7-star Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles between November 1st at midnight (UTC) / October 31st at 5:00pm (PDT), and November 3rd at 11:59pm (UTC) / 4:59pm (PDT). This will be followed by a second appearance one week later from November 8th at midnight (UTC) / 7th at 4:00pm (PST), to November 10th at 11:59pm (UTC) / 3:59pm (PST). Blissey will also be appearing more frequently in 5-star Tera Raid Battles during the second weekend of this event.

The Friday night Pokémon Card 2024 Dream Match livestream on the Japanese Official Pokémon YouTube channel has given players their first look at a selection of new and reprinted cards from Terastal Fest ex, the upcoming subset for the Pokémon Trading Card Game in Japan. The stream also included the first formal announcement of the subset's release date, which as expected will be arriving on store shelves in Japan on December 6th.

Sygna Suit Serena & Zygarde are returning to Pokémon Masters EX today in a special Master Fair Scout, alongside the usual collection of regular events and presents on offer for the monthly Pokémon Masters Day celebrations. All players who log in today will receive a special present of 500 Gems from Pikachu, and have the opportunity to take advantage of special events and co-op battles. As always, several sync pairs are also receiving upgrades alongside this monthly event.

The Tower Tycoon and Hall Matron Story Event that originally ran in Pokémon Masters EX in September last year is making a return to the game today alongside a Double Feature Poké Fair Scout featuring Palmer & Regigigas, and Argenta & Skarmory, who both made their debut together with the original run of the event. Both the event and scout will be available until November 6th, at 9:59pm (PST).

With only a little more than a week to go until Halloween, Pokémon Masters EX is today launching its third ever Ranked Damage Event, Super Sparring No. 3. Featuring battles against Bede, Hau, and Barry, this event will run through to October 30th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
