Submission Process

We have a few restrictions on submitted cosplays:
  • All cosplays must be of Pokémon characters. Original characters qualify, if you are willing to submit them to our reference section so people have some idea of who you are supposed to be.
  • All photos must be of the finished cosplays, not ones in progress.
  • Only one photo per individual cosplay. We do not want floods of images of the same cosplay over and over. Please select one photo that allows the viewer to get the best idea of what the cosplay looks like. Exceptions will only be made for notably complex costumes, where a zoom-in of certain spots or varying angles are required to appreciate all parts of the costume. Photoshopping the image, except to enhance the image quality, is strongly discouraged - we're interested in your cosplaying ability, not your photoshopping ability. We do allow photos of cosplays we've seen before in groups, but we still would like only one image from each group and some sort of noticable theme in the group shots - for example, characters from the anime or from the same game.
  • Though it is difficult to work into cosplay, the mature content rule still applies: No excessive or distasteful mature content is permitted. Mature content includes but is not limited to nudity, sexual situations, violence, gore, and foul or offensive language. If used tastefully and in moderation, mature content will be accepted, but will be labeled so young or sensitive viewers are aware of the content.
  • Any cosplay that does not show any signs of effort will not be accepted. As a rule of thumb, if we can't tell what character your cosplay is of before we read the name, your cosplay will probably not be accepted.
  • All of the cosplays must be your own work. Collaborations must have consent of all cosplayers involved. We have a no-tolerance art theft policy. If we discover you are claiming someone else's work as your own, we will not host the stolen photos nor any other work you have submitted to us, cosplay or otherwise. Past submissions will be removed. We will display a public list of all art thieves we have encountered.
Several of the above areas could be considered a matter of opinion, and if you feel we have unfairly rejected your fanart, please feel free to debate it with us. However, please understand that in the end the decision is ours, not yours. We will gladly put a link in your profile to any places where you may have a collection of your cosplays regardless of the content.

When submitting cosplays, please include the following things in an e-mail:
  • Your name (online penname preferred) and whether you are the costume designer, model, or both
  • The costume designer or model if it is not yourself (make sure you have their consent to give the image to us, too)
  • The character the costume is of
  • The photo itself, whether attached to the e-mail or with a link provided to a place where the photo can be downloaded
  • The photographer (again, online penname preferred)
  • Comments you would like to have accompanying the cosplay
Address the e-mail as "Cosplay Submission" and send it to pokemoncreations@gmail.com. It will be reviewed and responded to as promptly as possible, usually in the span of a few days. If accepted, it will be put on the stage as quickly as possible. If rejected, we will be certain to tell you on what specific grounds it was rejected.

Thank you! We can't wait to see your Pokémon cosplays!
