Submission Process
Submissions for the reference section are less structured than for some of the other sections of Pokémon Creations, since submissions will vary depending on the type of reference submitted.
If you are submitting Reference material for which no section exists, we will review it with careful consideration and, if accepted, create a new section for the type of reference.
If you are submitting Reference material for which a section already exists but have information to include which is not in the standard format for entries in the section, we will modify the format to create a spot for the information.
General guidelines for the Reference Section include:
- No submission of canon material. This is purely for fan-created Pokémon information. If you are interested in adding to a reference section on Pokémon canon information, you may wish to check out the Bulbapedia and inquire about assisting.
- Submissions do not need to completely fill the forms for entries in the reference section. However, there must be a substantial amount of information, not just a name and a vague description.
- Though difficult to work into reference material, no excessive or distasteful mature content is permitted. Mature content includes but is not limited to nudity, sexual situations, violence, gore, and foul or offensive language. If used tastefully and in moderation, mature content will be accepted, but will be labeled so young or sensitive viewers are aware of the content.
- Submissions must all show some creativity, particularly any fan-Pokémon. This means no real world animals or monsters from a different series. We reserve the right to reject any and all alternate evolutions of Eevee and modifications of Mew. (If you ask nicely, perhaps special sections for all overplayed concepts like the Eeveelutions and Mewthree will be created sometime in the future.)
- All of the information must be your own ideas. Collaborations must have consent of all creators involved. We have a no-tolerance art theft policy. If we discover you are claiming someone else's work as your own, we will not host the stolen ideas nor any other work you have submitted to us, reference or otherwise. Past submissions will be removed. We will display a public list of all art thieves we have encountered.
Several of the above areas could be considered a matter of opinion, and if you feel we have unfairly rejected your ideas, please feel free to debate it with us. However, please understand that in the end the decision is ours, not yours. If we do not accept your work, we will still gladly put a link in your profile to any places where you may have a collection of your ideas regardless of the content.
When submitting information, please e-mail us with your name (online penname preferred) and all information you have available, as well as any appropriate graphics, including sprites and maps. Address the e-mail as "Reference Submission" and send it to pokemoncreations@gmail.com. It will be read and responded to as promptly as possible, which may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on how busy the maintainers are. If accepted, it will be put in the reference section as quickly as possible. If rejected, we will be certain to tell you on what specific grounds it was rejected.
Thank you! We can't wait to see your ideas for the Pokémon world!
